Zagliani bags may be pretty, but they're not cheap: this Zagliani Metallic Python Handbag is $2,865. Jennifer Lopez loves hers, but I'm not sure if I could love one of my own, even if I could afford it.

17I wouldn't mind it if it was fake skin- but python! No, No, No! Did everyone read the fabsugar article (which was so fantastic and important, thank you fab!) about how python skin is acquired? Appalling, truly.
18I saw photos of J.Lo carrying this bag and had no idea who designed it. The shape is what intrigued me the most so I'm surprised to learn it's injected with silicone for that look. At that price I'm assuming it's genuine python eh? Hmm... my disdain for animal cruelty says yuck.

26This is a California Statute:
"� 653o. Endangered species; Importation or possession for sale
(a) It is unlawful to import into this state for commercial purposes, to possess with intent to sell, or to sell within the state, the dead body, or any part or product thereof, of any polar bear, leopard, ocelot, tiger, cheetah, jaguar, sable antelope, wolf (Canis lupus), zebra, whale, cobra, python, sea turtle, colobus monkey, kangaroo, vicuna, sea otter, free-roaming feral horse, dolphin or porpoise (Delphinidae), Spanish lynx, or elephant.
(c) Any person who violates any provision of this section is guilty of a misdemeanor and shall be subject to a fine of not less than one thousand dollars ($1,000) and not to exceed five thousand dollars ($5,000) or imprisonment in the county jail for not to exceed six months, or both such fine and imprisonment, for each violation."
But I mean, really sumnboutme, it totally sucks that there are laws against killing endangered animals for fashion. It's just so totally inconvenient, and I don't think that the government understands that I really NEED a tacky python bag. Maybe we could lobby or something?
I couldn't quite figure out when this statute took effect, either 1977 or possibly it will in 2008 or 2011...which would definitely give me time to stock up on alligator bags and zebra shoes.
