When Karl Lagerfeld photographed the ad campaign for the champagne Dom Perignon Oenotheque, he was thinking of a young, handsome old-moneyed couple, for whom everything is perfect. They're just a little bored, and the husband looks at his wife and gets the idea that she could be all women in one. The champagne helps him imagine these fantasies, which are played out through the all the pictures: Claudia Schiffer as French maid, Claudia Schiffer as Marie Antoinette, Claudia Schiffer as blushing bride...

The pictures are all black and white, as Karl prefers with his photography...and his every day dress, for that matter. Do you find the final product fantasy-inducing?

really classy, it had to be Mister Lagerfeld...
It's nice and classy - but we've all seen it before...
Seen it a bazillion times to the point it starts to get tacky
I love the new Piper Heidsick Champagne done by Victor and Rolf!
Claudia looks amazing!
I really like most of these.
Love it! Claudia is as hot as ever.
I love it, but I think something needs to happen to the bottle to make it pop more/maybe putting it in color it gets lost in a lot of the ads!
I love the woman dancing on the piano. The lighting source from the floor is a fun little touch that adds to this image. The product placement with the faint glow around it is pretty smart.
I really love this series of photographs. It's very detailed and thoughtful, not to mention gorgeous.
Karl is an amazing photographer so I'm not surprised!
So, anyone had the new Dom?
I love it. Yes, it's been done before, but so has just about everything else...it's beautiful.
I love it...but it's vaguely weird. He doesn't change, she does. And then performs for him. Yup. Beautiful but problematic.
