Ashley Olsen has been toting around her Fendi crocodile bag for months now — it's obviously a fave. But really, it perfectly suits her fierce and luxe style. While I know not everyone will perk up at the idea of wearing a crocodile skin on their arm, it is a proven luxury item in today's world of fashion. For those who do like the structured, upscale material, faux versions abound. So what's it going to be: a $12,000 crocodile handbag? A $400 one? Or are you saying to yourself: What a croc?!

12k for a bag?! I'll pass.
1$12k for a bag? $24k for a bag? Good lord, that's like my gross income. I'd sooner wrestle a crocodile, skin it myself, and tan the leather than pay out that kind of money for any handbag. Maybe if you took off three of the zeros....
2I love croc bags! I won't be getting the Fendi though, maybe that one from Urban Outfitters.
3I wouldn't spend that much either...plus, poor crocs
4agreed ashcwebb. even if i could afford the bag (which i can't), i don't know that i want to carry around a croc..i would feel horrible.
5I have a faux black croc flat wallet that I LOVE, which is just as stylish and only $24, not $24,000! Plus, no crocs harmed in the making
6i love croc bags~ vintage croc bags are the best!
7I love love love faux croc! I have about ten different croc bags! But none for 12K!
8I love the Yves St Laurent one! The uptown is to die for, especially in the Croc.
I know i'm far from being politically correct, but I really love Croc leather. I think it's an exotic that's exceptionally classy. I can't even begin to afford it, but I'm hoping to scoop up a vintage bag one of these days. IT may be the trend at the moment, but it's also such a classic look. That's what appeals to me about it. I could care less about it being trendy.
I don't usually care for Mock Croc (i love how that rhymes btw) but I recently saw a Cole Haan Mock Croc bag at Nordstrom and I was really impressed with how real it looked. Much more real looking than most of the faux versions, even my beloved Miu Miu. I believe it's in the 400-500 range. Perhaps I'll be able to get it on sale sooner or later...
9I have a Kelly Green real Croc bag, that I got at an estate sale. I have no problems using Croc hide, living in florida........
10I hate crocodiles. Totally irrational fear of them. But I love croc leather- the only good croc is a dead one.
11Yves Saint Laurent Crocodile Uptown $26,995 ???
Get the eff outta here! Can this bag produce money too? All it does it carry stuff- its not that serious.
And to think there are children around the world dying of starvation and ppl would actually by a bag for that much! it should be a sin!
12Buy an expensive bag so you have no money left to put "in" it, smooth.
By the way, croc stinks. But granny-style seems to be all the rage, so oh well
13I want that Banana Republic bag, but I'd like it in red!
14They all look great, but not for that price.
15That's a big n o for me. I know that celebrities and other wealthy socialites can afford to pay such ridiculous sums of money for something like a bag but that doesn't make it right or the bag look any cuter.
16$12,000? I think I'm feeling woozy.
To be honest, I have only rarely seen a croc bag (real or printed) that I liked -- although the ones above are all pretty nice.
I think it helps if the style is simple, since croc plus lots of other details just gets too busy looking.
Two faux croc, leather bags that did catch my eye, though:
