It's safe to say that the hype around Anya Hindmarch's I'm Not a Plastic Bag has died down . . . until now. This I'm A Stupid Bag Tote ($10) pokes fun at the craze of eco-friendly bags. Still, one of these totes can replace over 700 plastic bags. Though I gave in to the original version, I won't be carrying the knock-off any time soon. You?

I caved for an "I'm not a plastic bag" too, and I've yet to carry the thing. It's not as big as the ones I got from my grocery store, and those were far cheaper.
This one kinda cracks me up. But again, I'll stick with my Woodman's canvas bags. 2.00 apiece and when they get gross, they can go into the washing machine and come out none the worse for wear.
Happy Christmas, ladies!
1I like it. The "I'm not a plastic bag" totes are cute too but this one is humorous. I just carry a whole foods tote when I buy my groceries anyway.
2So funny!
3I have a Marc shopping tote.
4Funny, and makes a good point... a bag is a bag.
5Love it. I know so many folk who paid over the odds for the real one - I wish their's had said " I'm a moron for paying over the odds for this stupid bag"
Ah.... if only purchases could talk.
6i think this is so funny!!
7Is this supposed to be for carrying groceries?? If so, I guess it's okay...
I just use the canvas totes we bought at Whole Foods for grocery shopping. I don't really have any desire to go buy this at all.
8This one is okay, but I really love the "Karma: what goes around comes around" shopping tote that was posted last week.
9I wouldn't want to carry around something that says "stupid," because then that would make people think I'm stupid for buying it. But I do applaud the use of canvas bags...I use my Trader Joe's bag all the time!
10I don't believe in buying knock-offs.
11The original AND the knock-off are ugly and pretentious. Get envirosax. They're absolutely adorable and come in all kinds of patterns that will actually look good AND keep you from using plastic.
12Interesting !!!
But I'm just a f*cking bag is better !!!
13Love it! Green is great and all, but at the end of the day, a bag is a bag.
14I love this bag! We had a torrential downpour in NYC and people stood on line for hours to get the original with only newspapers to shield them from the rain! In the end, wearing the bag became more of a fashion must have than a stand for eco friendly products.
15ps. I just turned Gold! yay!!
16LOVE.
17It would certainly reflect the sentiments of many men!
18it just seems... too negative.
19and i hate how it's not really just a stupid bag.
buying that would make my boyfriend even more pissed at me for loving purses
I hate that stupid bag.
20I like this.
I might carry this just to irk people.
FunnY
21its skid.
22I don't like it- at least the original was trying to be positive- reminding us that it's better for the environment to reuse one canvas bag instead of tossing out SO MANY plastic bags- it got trendy, but the message is still right on.
23Not a fan...
24So many ridiculous posts about this bag. It's a reusable canvas bag. Here is SF they're darn near required if you don't want to be charged a service charge at the grocery store. Sorry it is a city ordinance no plastic bags from grocery stores only trusty cut down trees.
Personally, I have the bright green ones from Whole Foods and unfashionable free ones from conventions and employers and "cute, hip one" from retailers (they were gifts from friends-I wouldn't pay $10 to $15 for something I can sew myself for $3 or less).
It really doesn't matter what they look like or what the say - you just put your stuff in them and schlepp it home and hope nothing breaks open and spills on you.
I grab one whenever I walk out of the door no matter what so that whether I'm shopping at H&M or Walgreens or Macy's or WF - I have my own bag and they keep theirs.
25I wish they made a bag that said "I'm so tired of bags with stupid catchphrases"...
26I don't like it, but still, it's better than plastic bags.
