Fashion designer Behnaz Sarafpour did! A very modern idea . . .

I would like to look sth differant.
2Its unique
3Yes I would. My mom's wedding dress back in the 50's (1955) was fabulous. It was cocktail or ankle-length with layers of either tulle or some other fluffy fabric like that went from her waist to just above her ankles or mid-calf (I'd have to pull out the picture). The top was strapless and covered in tulle or whatever with kind of a shoulder shrug. My grandmothers all four of them hand sewed a few crystals on the skirt of the dress to catch the light better at the reception. She wore one of those great 50's dainty hats with a tiny veil. And according to my Aunt her own accessories were bright red lipstick, diamond stud earrings and a monogrammed hanky.
I didn't see my parent's wedding picture until like 5 years ago which was years after they both had died. At that point I changed my idea of what a wedding dress could be. I would be completely comfortable in a cocktail or ankle length dress but I would feel lost in a ball gown. I'm amazed that my style is evolving into my mom's even though I didn't get to know her as an adult.
4yes i would, why not?
5
If the dress fits!! I think a short wedding dress would fit my personality if I ever do get married..
er..no.. i'm rather... conventional
7
Hmmmm, never really considered that...why not?
I'm getting married in a lovely dress that just hits just above the knee, and I feel gorgeous in it!
9
i would....and is that a wedding dress in the picture? it looks like a flirty day-dress and it looks so pretty
i'm short so long dresses tend to overwhelm me so i'd definitely give it a chance if the dress was fantastic
11I've never really thought about it. I can't say I would go "looking" for a short one but if something amazing came to me I would consider it.
12I want to get married in a short dress (I'm tying the knot this summer) but they seem hard to find - any ideas?
13I'm a shortie so most likely not. Now if I had long killer legs I may be all about it.
14I voted no, because my imediate thought was one of Pamela Anderson, I definately would not want to look like that on my wedding day. But on reflection I think it could look very sweet and flirty, and could definately be practical for a beach wedding.
15Not a chance. We're having a black tie wedding in May, and if all the guests are expected to wear formal attire, then I certainly need to as well.
16If I had nice legs, absolutely!
17
No...
Honestly, I am too old school.
I have decided I am either having a HUGE wedding or a small one somewhere exotic with close fmaily + friends and NO WEDDING DRESS
i love the traditional gown that makes you feel like a princes for the day! however, i would have considered a short dress if my wedding had been on a beach.
19I don't think so. But I haven't thought about wedding dresses too much.
20I wore a long one... But if I ever have to repeat it, I would definitely go short!
They're so cute. And WAAAAY more comfortable.
21
I would totally wear a short wedding dress. I loved the dress Sharon Tate wore when she married Roman Polnaski.

How hot is that?!?!?!?
No way!
23Sure! It would be perfect for a summer wedding at the beach or park!
24Hey Fab - Here's a question for you. I have a friend who is wearing a short (just above ankle length) dress and since she is in her opinion, "way too tall," she wants to wear flats. I am trying to help her pick shoes, but I cant figure out what flats go with a shorter wedding dress. You are the flats expert, any ideas? (Dress is large ivory lace print, and the wedding is in the mountains).
25How funny, I was just thinking about this yesterday! I think if it is a small wedding, you have more chance to wear a fun short dress, but if you are having a massive wedding in a nice church, you should go more traditional. I'm only five foot tall- I think a ball gown style would swallow me!
26I agree smalltown. Only at the beach.
27I would, depending on the situation.
28
nooo way, long beautiful princess wedding dress for me please
if it was like really
gorgeous and strapless
then i totally would!
Sillygirl: What about flats in pale gold (or silver, depending on the warmness of the shade of the dress)? I'm wearing a knee-length dress with a pair of sparkly mary jane-style flats. My dress is a champagne/pale gold colour and together they look fantastic!
31Nope...think they look tacky and ridiculous.
My wedding dress was more traditional and "princess-y"...I loved it.
32Oops, that meant to say: I'm wearing a knee-length dress with a pair of sparkly GOLD mary jane-style flats. Otherwise it doesn't make much sense, ha ha!
33i would. i don't think that you have to have a long dress becuase that's what tradition tells you. it's a new era for fashion and whatever looks best should be worn.
34No thanks...
35You can wear short dresses whenever you want! but a long dress with train you can only wear once....on your wedding! but that also means that a short wedding dress you could wear again and again!
36My dream dress is a knee length A-line, cream, silk brocade, with a portrait neckline. this is weird, but I'm only 16 and can already picture my wedding dress (not picturing the man, of course).
37ehhh...doubt it..maybe at the reception
38I think the dress in the picture is a weee bit too short for me. But definitely knee-length is fine.
39Nope, I just think a longer dress for a wedding is much more elegant. I mean you can wear a short dress anytime , right? The only way I would wear one is for the reception afterwards...
40For me, it's totally dependent on when, where, why and at what age I'm marrying. If it was a quickie wedding, a beach wedding or a 2nd or third marriage I might consider it. For now, my dream is a ballgown....Reem Acra, Amsale, etc!!!
41I think I was being married in the summer I would want a short wedding dress, only if it is beyond attractive.
42No way... I love the long dress look!
43
I would and I did
Traditional wedding gowns are very much "not me", so when I got
married in 1997 I wore a white ensamble with a short skirt and fitted jacket, and fabulous white t-strap platform pumps with 4 1/2 inch heels
I never regretted it and would definitely do it again. But then again, the rest of the
cerimony was also kind of unconventional, I probably wouldn't do it if I was getting married in a Catholic church.
nope!
45only if it was the most beautiful short dress i had ever seen. i don't like the dress that the designer chose b/c (even though it's pretty) you can even wear it as a day dress to a party. i want to look more glamorous since it is that ONE day so i'm most likely going long but i have no problem with a short dress.
46Never! I have seriously considered a black gow, though, but I think I'll stay traditional.
47I might but it would depend on two things. My legs would have to be in awesome shape! Also it depends on the groom. Some men have personalities that allow you to think about adding more fun and pizazz into your wedding while other men might have the types of personality where you just want to keep things more traditional. I don't know if that makes sense to anyone but me but hey that's my theory.
48I so would - such a great idea!
49
i've been planning to do this for year.
there is a nicole miller dress that i love, and that babydoll michael kors did a few years ago i thought would be perfect, until i tried it on and it wasn't.
for me to get a long dress hemmed, it would be upwards of 200 hundred dollars.
i wnt a short dress and a casual wedding, my boyfriend hates ties, and i want him to be comfortable, so a short dress would allow him to be more casual.
yeah..i MAY have put a little too much thought into that.
