I think it's safe to say if you book Kate Moss for an ad campaign she can single-handedly ameliorate the brand. Then, choose to have hubbie/wife duo Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin shoot, and, well, you get something quite fabulous. As you know I'm on a YSL kick, especially in the handbag arena, and the designer of 2007, Alber Elbaz, may have some stiff competition in the Year of the Rat. As for Kate, she's the chic girl who would never be caught yearning for fashion through a store window, but she is. That's the power of YSL.

i like them, i just don't love them. i've loved other ads of theirs, this just isn't my favorite.

I was never a big fan of Kate's. As a guy, I never found her all that attractive. When I first saw the YSL collection for Spring 2008, I hated it. I thought it was boring compared to Dolce & Gabanna and Lanvin and didn't hit on any of the major trends. As for the bags, that's a different story, I actually fancy the blue one featured above. Now, how many thousands will that set you back?
