Barneys is exclusively selling this Naea Amanda Handwoven Hobo ($250), made by casting director Amanda Mackey and her daughter, to support women in Ethiopia. I admire its philanthropic nature so perhaps I'd carry it on a laid-back day. Would you?

Maybe for the beach but that's about it.
1i feel like stuff could fall out of it or be easily stolen (what can i say i live in a city)
2Mmmmm noooo...
3Not my style.
love it, but not for that price. maybe 20$? lol im cheap, what can i say
4i like it, but i'll prolly wont buy it for tht price!
5I LOVE these types of hobo bags! They are super comfortable to wear and carry so much stuff! Thankfully, they are also quite stylish
6I wouldn't mind paying $250 for it if more than 50% of that went to the charity. Or if it was actually sewn by women in Ethiopia, and they were getting paid that well for it. I like the bag, but the price is a little exorbitant.
7It's cute, but not for $250.
8It looks really easy to make and I wonder what percentage of that money actually supports women in Ethiopia.
they make really similar bags in thailand for about $8. they're large, cute and brightly colored. unfortch they also have no interior pockets, so unless you like all of your stuff in a huge pile in the bottom, i'd say forget it.
9That's too ridiculously expensive for $250. Since I know how to find exotic textiles and know how to sew, I could make one exactly like that for less than 15. In my country, these type of hobo bags are very popular because they are handmade by tribal groups and they are sold there for $7.00 and tourists from across the world buy it because they like it.
10The only difference with the hobo bags my country does ---that they come with buttons to snap so that items don't easily fall off.
Love it but im not paying 250 for it.
11it's cute and since i sew i could make something really similar to it for $10.00 (the cost of fabric and thread) haha
now $250? no thanks
12It's such a pretty fabric and would be really cute for the beach but, yeah, $250? I don't think so.
13Why is this worth $250????
14i would rather give money directly to charity then buy this extremely overpriced bag! my friend made me a bag like that and it cost less than $10 for fabric.
15yeah, it's too much for what it is. even if it is for a good cause, i can't give that much to a charity with my budget, let along spend my money on a bag like that. i don't buy bags often, and i usually try to buy cheap or save or beg for gifts... and i wouldn't beg for this.
16I like it but would NEVER pay that price for it. And Ur Momm, it looks like a $20 bag!
17I think its pretty. Pretty and expensive for such a simple bag.
18No way...and for $250.00? Hellz no!
19I agree and it has a bad shape.
20I like it, but it looks like Barneys is still looking to make an astronomical amount of money off of this. It irritates me how so many companies will act like they're doing something so philanthropic, but they're just really tacking on an additional $25 to the regular price rather than donating actual profits.
21Okay Love it... its totally cute. BUT.....$250?!?
I think not.
22I'm with all the likes... but not for the price. I could make it for $15 with my own, JUST FOR ME, fabulous fabric AND probably make it reversible... hmm there's a thought
23It's pretty, but too expensive.
24its handmade and it supports a good cause, plus it looks chic. What more could anyone want?
25its handmade and it supports a good cause, plus it looks chic. What more could anyone want?
26I love that it supports a cause, but the only time I'd carry this is on a vacation somewhere warm/tropical/beachy (during the day or for a casual night out).
27It looks like it cost about $7. Not $250
28I guess it's okay, but the price! WOW! But the moneys worth it.
29i like hobos but not that one for that price. it reminds me of one of those kangaroo baby carriers
30I don't like it. I hate these types of bags.
31I like it and I love that it supports women in Ethiopia, but it kinda looks like something you could buy at Target...
32Hey,
I actually have this bag, it's really nice and super cute. BUT the only problem i have is because it's hand-woven, it kind of falls apart. The thread comes undone VERY easily. My bag has pieces of thread sticking out all over. I have a ton of designer bags and I take care of all of them. Its not like I wore this bag and threw it everywhere, I used it for an hour when I realized it was falling apart.
I wish I could say it was worth it, but for the price and falling apart, I wouldnt recommend purchasing it. If i knew this was going to happen, I would have saved my money.
33its great that they want to help the unemployed women, however, it is sad if they use that as front or excuse to get the labor and pay pennies for it. if the $250 this bag is priced for is actually used for these women and not for the mackey profit, sure i'll buy. other wise shame on them.
