I love it. When I was in Navy boot camp I was given these awful thick brown rimmed glasses that were appropriately named BC's--birth controls, cause it was sure to keep the guys away. But I embraced the glasses and kinda wore them with cutesy preppy sweaters or very girly jackets and somehow they started to fit in well with what I wore.

um, love it! i'm wearing mine right now. they're not exactly a fashion statement--more like a dire necessity--but they fit my personality and style perfectly.

i own a pair - because i was told i needed glasses and i seriously don't - and i love them. marc jacobs makes a really cute pair i'd want if i ever wore my glasses.
but i think they are cute. and tortoise shell is better for the geek.

Not all black frames look the same. Some of them look great but I don't like these.

love it, cos i wear my black, and rather thick black rimmed frames too.

I used to have thin wire frames, and those actually look kind of insipid. They kind of whimper "Oh, don't mind me, I wear these ugly things because I have to." Now I have thick black frames, and they're heavier than the wire frames, and they kind of get in the way of my peripheral vision more, but I like the look much better. It's like these glasses say "Yeah, that's right, I'm a hot geek and I'm wearing glasses!"

I wear a pair like these too. For a while, I was considering going to those frameless glasses, but I decided to stick with my good ol'chic black plastic frames.

I've been wearing glasses similar to this for over five years now and I've had several pairs that differ slightly in shape and size. I'm currently rocking a pair of Versace black plastic and metal ones that are awesome! Oddly enough, I've had a LOT of guys I've dated who really, really love them - so they really aren't "BCs" apparently

I love it, mainly because I need glasses to see and I'm terrified of contacts for some reason! But I love thick black rims. They're way cute, even if a bit cliche sometimes.

I did the whole plastic frame thing since I was 15. I'm kinda over it. And black is too harsh with my complexion.

I think they are okay with a smaller frame like a small square frame but not on something thick and rounded.

I just bought a pair of tortoise shell glasses with blue on the inside. My old wire frame glasses were ugly, and since i'm a little geeky, then these were perfect. Good for days when I don't feel like wearing contacts.

Honestly. I do not know what it is, but it's been a few years where literally, I will do double takes on any man in dark rimmed glasses. Floppy dark hair is a plus. Maybe it screams a certain type of person (bookish, reads the news, plays scrabble, listens to sufjan stevens) I dunno. But for whatever reason they are a total turn on.

My friends joke that I have a glasses fetish. And I suppose in the realm of fetishes, it's on the less weird side, right?

the first Christmas present I gave my husband was a pair of glasses like that. There was a recent pic of Zachary Quinto sporting a pair of those....le swoon!
