I was wandering the aisles of my local drug store last night when something cool caught my eye: the Umbrella Draining System ($15). I thought the standing umbrella was innovative but this takes the cake.
Living in a city where it rains often, this could come in handy. The UDS umbrella comes with an umbrella holder in the same color — choose from silver, gold, pink, purple, or red. After you're done using your drenched umbrella, simply put it in its container and let the water drip in there. Once your umbrella is dry again, drain the water out. Why didn't I think of that?!

That seems like a great idea! But how does it not mildew...?
1this is great! i usually dry my umbrelly in the hand dryer machines found in the ladies room.
2looks to bulky... id rather not...
3OMG! I Love umbrellas ;]!
4Good idea! But I'm kind of with Jennifer76...what about mildew??
5I think that's a good idea.
6I'm pretty sure you aren't in CA so it's a very strange coincidence that you mention umbrellas today. It was cold and raining today and it was warm and sunny only a few days ago. California weather is fickle.
7AllaWallaBalla- All of the Sugar employees are based in San Fran so Fab would definitely have a lot of experience with rain
Jen- mildew was totally my first thought. I just throw my umbrella in my car floor. If you didnt want to pay $15 you could always recycle a plastic bag and use it as a holder
8Yeah mildew would be a problem, and aren't you essentially just paying for a plastic cup to put the umbrella in?
9Interesting...
10I think mildew would be a problem here.
11I just stick my umbrella in a bucket.
12Cool.
I live in the north east where we get rain and snow. So it work here. But normally I just open it in an empty cube, if I am at work or when at home in a clear space at my house.
13Seems pretty cumbersome, and might leak out if it tipped over. I'd rather just stash it in a plastic bag until I can dry it out in the open.
14my umbrella lives in my garage.
15I just keep a towel in the car. It does the job for me.
