Marc Jacobs created one strange shoe for his Spring 2008 collection, but that doesn't mean it should be translated onto the streets. United Nude's Metallic Leather Pumps ($148, originally $236) have the same inverted heel as Marc's version. I would never dare walk a mile (or even an inch) in these shoes; they're unsafe and unstylish. Are you with me?

I like the color, but I dislike the heel. I think the only time I liked this inverted heel was in Posh's ads for Marc.
Ya I don't get this...
not a fan...
ummm nooo...not my thing at all...do they hurt?
ew. inverted heels should be illegal.
I'm actually fascinated by these. I certainly dislike the look of them and would never wear them, but I am curious. The heels look like they would put pressure right into your arch. Are these even wearable other than standing still and looking, um, 'pretty'?
Yuck
ugh Lucite shoes are reserved for hookers
if you don't die from a neck-breaking fall, you'll definitely have to spend money on chiropractics....these are completely unsafe. They were a fun idea as a wacky avant-guard design, but not in real life.
I imagine that if I wore these people would be asking me what the heck is wrong with my shoes.
I love the round toe pump, I LOVE the color, I despise the heel... very tacky
too weird.
I like things about it but it just doesn't work together.
i love the design, and the heeless shoes is more comfortable then it looks.
Same shoe, normal heel and I'd buy it.
I think Marc Jacobs should stick to what he is good at purses. His clothes (and now his shoes) are ugly.
They look like they'll snap.
kinda looks like a doorstop.
i could see these working on someone very fashion forward, say in Milan or Japan...but...I think I'll pass.
I like the color of the shoes, but i'm not exactly sure how functional they are for any setting, it looks like a pebble in the street might be the end of you.
I tried these on once at the store a year or two ago. They're actually quite comfortable. The heel is meant to be reminiscent of an office chair (a specific one that is well regarded in design but I can't remember which one, the Eames chair maybe? who knows.) I still don't really like them but they are stable and comfortable. I just tend towards classics so they're not for me.
Not my style at all, don't like them
The heels are so ugly.
they look awesome. im dying to try them.
I do love the color..but that heel is intimidating
I own these shoes, I bought them about two years ago in brown leather and they're the most comfortable shoes I've ever had (if not compared to flats of course) and when worn with right outfit they look great! The thing is they're designed by some architect and somehow, he made them really really comfortable, and usually i'm not comfortable wearing heels...
I liked the shoe, including the heel! I'm only not certain about his safety... I don't know how to walk in normal heels!! But, without this little problem, I'd buy them!
Don't like Marc's or these.
has anyone actually dared to wear these? can you walk in them?
Not my style
you guys are so closed minded... that heel is unique without being a gaudy over kill.. I'd love to rock that shoe b/c no one else has it... and I would look fab in it!
Yes wiil205, they're very comfortable, and it's easier to walk in them than in many other shoes...
I like the color, but kinda scared to rock that heel....
I love the color but not sure about the concept. I would have to try them on. I think I would feel unbalanced and fear of injury in these.
i'm curious. i don't wear enough heels to buy them, i'm afraid i'd get them like.. stuck on something (i have trouble with heels too... with cords and chairs... i mean i fall over in kitten heels) but they are neat. i like them better than marc jacobs inverted heel.
I truly wonder about the comfort of these shoes...the sort of remind me of a hollowed out wedge.
I I think they'd be as easy to walk in as a wedge- so the safety factor doesn't bother me.
But........ they are ugly as sin.
It look creepy to me!
look cheap.
The heel looks like the bottom of a cheap metal chair. Ugly.
I don't like these inverted heels in particular, but I loooooooove the design of the inverted heel. It's like Martin Margiela's split-toed shoes (which I don't like) - you either love them or hate them. I think the inverted heel is a lovely way to work avant garde fashion into your daily life. If they were unsafe to walk in, they probably wouldn't be sold, and as previously mentioned it doesn't seem any different than walking on a hollowed out wedge. The design is shocking but tasteful, unexpected but chic. I love Marc's.
Reminds me of a stapler!
great colour!! ugly heel! never a win win situation. booo
They don't look very safe or comfortable. All the pressure would be on the ball and arch of the foot - I can't imagine how it wouldn't be painful just to stand.
The "heels" remind me of the metal wheels one finds on rolling furniture (bed frames and the like). Not cute imho.
I rater stick with the classic pumps..
Agree with girlfriday about the rolling furniture. I was just telling to myself it looks like the rolling chair in my bedroom hahah!
strange.. imho
Ridiculous.
They just look too weird, in fact when I saw the picture I had to look twice, I couldn't believe they actually made a shoe like that.
I really like the surrealist effect but I wonder if you could even walk in them...
