If there's such a thing as being equally minimalist and over-the-top, Givenchy's Spring 2008 couture show is it. Natalia Vodianova and Lou Doillon looked on as Riccardo Tisci's creations came to life.
On the simple spectrum, there were slim white pants and tailored white blazers, sheer tank tops and ivory tights. The rest was drama at its best: accordion-like silhouettes, layered feathers, holey sequin jackets, sheer tiered gowns, overly exaggerated origami frocks, and pretty embellishments. The way I see it, if the no-frills Jil Sander and the overly frilly Dior produced a fashion-forward love child, this collection would be her. Model child indeed!

you know FAB, i was very hesitant to buy some Marc Jacob's sandals, that have precisely, those large ribbon like straps, and a somewhat high platform, but i see this trend in a lot of designers for spring.
still, i loved how they looked on me

2I'm in love with those Little Black Dresses! So cute!
3The top in the main picture reminds me of those birthday streamer thingies that people hang up.
Love the black dresses!
4The top totally reminds me of a tacky birthday decoration, but I'm always amazed at how they can create clothes the same way.
5The top picture (and the red) looks like it was inspired by the "ribbon candy" you find at Christmas... LOVE the black dresses and #6 and 8. #10 looks like an old Nurse's uniform.
6lovely dresses
7If I could buy one whole couture collection it would be this. Amazing. Givenchy always amazes me. They are on my top list followed by Balenciaga. This is when Fashion becomes Art.
