Did you know that car makers are looking to fashion for color inspiration?
Runway season is "the time when we're actually trying to confirm our own design forecasts," Jon Hall, Ford Motor Co.'s chief paint designer said. "But we're also looking for big trends of what collectively the fashion designers are doing, whether that's transparent overlays or more pastel colors or darker colors or whatever it might be." He attended about ten shows in September, including Carolina Herrera (left) and Helmut Lang. Good to know!

car companies trend forecast for colors a lot like designers do.
1i actually wanted this job of picking and finding colors for interior and trims of cars for a long time. there was a presentation at my university (two years before i went there) and there were a bunch of industrial designers, and one fashion designer. the fashion designer was the one who forecasted the trends in colors, and he brought in some of his marketing boards and explained his process. it was amazing.
i major in industrial design now, and hope to do shoes one day. but still i would love that job
Sweet!
2umm... AWESOME?!?!

4that's cool...would love to see more variety
5I agree, more variety would be great!
