For her first major ad campaign since relaunching her label a decade ago, Diane von Furstenberg wanted something special.
She hand-picked French artist François-Marie Banier to photograph Natalia Vodianova on the streets of Paris on a rainy day, and then in a Manhattan studio. They went for a carefree approach: no fashion stylist, no hair stylist, no make-up artist — just Natalia picking out her own clothes and flaunting them as she knows best. Banier then took the black and white images, added dashes of color and writing in his signature style.
And voila — DVF's first ad campaign— do you dig it?

meh, I guess it's alright.
1Funky!
2Meh. I thought the whole point of an ad is to sell something. Looking at that ad I think it wants me to go buy oil paints, not clothes.
3I like it
4I think it's beautiful.
5I love it!
6LOVE it! It's unique.
7while i wish i could see the clothes more, it's such a great work of art that i can overlook all that. i love DVF!!!
8I love it visually, not being able to see her clothes doesn't bother me since DVF line stays pretty static, same template different color/print.
9The ad is too busy. Not sure what they are trying to sell.
10All that Natalia touches I love
11love it...love it...love it!!!!
12love it! I do wish I could see the clothes...guess I will have to wait. wah wah.
13Kind of cool, I like it.
14i like them!
15good call on picking Natalia Vodianova as the model
I hope she doesn't try to incorporate this painting into her textiles!
16I like how it's simply yet stylish.
17It's nice as an art piece but terrible as an ad. Where are the clothes?
18I love it. This ad is not about the clothing but seems to be more about the essences of DVF. I don't think you always have to show your product to have great advertising
19meh. i love dvf, and the add is cute, but i can't see the clothes.
