Though there are countless designers to choose from when a woman wants to look beautiful, when her goal is to be a lady, nobody suits her better than Carolina Herrera. Perhaps that's because Herrera herself is the quintessential lady in her signature crisp, white button-downs and neatly shorn locks. The Venezuelan beauty's personal style — formed from the early age of 13 when she first attended Haute Couture shows — is as much an influence on her feminine and printed gowns as the botanical inspirations she finds for her often floral designs. Click through to see where Herrera's been as we look forward to where she's going for Spring 2014.

Why we want it: iPad cases are one of those things that I know can be fun, but I still tend to steer towards the practical and durable — read: boring. But how can you pass up an iPad case that makes you smile with delight every time you look at it? With all the wit and whimsy that you expect from Kate Spade New York, this iPad case features perfectly toned legs in perfectly adorable heels doing a perfectly charming little dance. When I start getting a little testy during my more jam-packed moments at Fashion Week, I'm going to whip this out of my purse for a pick-me-up.
Labor Day has come and gone, and while we're excited to throw on our cozy sweaters and cute Fall booties, we're not quite ready to say goodbye to Summer. Community member Alex knows what we're talking about, and her elegant ensemble showed us the perfect way to transition from hot Summer days to chillier Fall weather. A black-and-white look is undoubtedly classic, but with some ruffled texture and silk fabric, timeless gets a trendy boost. Her sleeveless top and knee-length skirt show just the right amount of skin too — perfect for warm days and cool nights. And those red suede booties? Well, we always love a good pop of color. Funky jewelry, a simple black clutch, and black aviators finish off this superchic outfit.

There are still nine days until the Phillip Lim For Target collection lands, but two lucky ladies — Jessica Alba and Solange Knowles — already got to take on the trends at the line's launch party during New York Fashion Week tonight. Jessica dressed up a playful "Boom!" sweater with navy-and-black tuxedo trousers, then finished with a black structured bag also from the collection. Solange stuck to her love of prints in an animal-print miniskirt, then tempered the wildness via the navy-and-black tuxedo blazer. Both stars were fashionable in their respective ensembles, but who wore her Phillip Lim For Target look better?
Trish Summerville is one of Hollywood's biggest costume designers, having outfitted Rooney Mara for her turn as Lisbeth Salander in The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo and now Jennifer Lawrence for her role as Katniss Everdeen in the Hunger Games films. We spoke with Trish yesterday ahead of her big night being honored at the 2013 Style Awards, held right at the beginning of Fashion Week. Trish took us behind the scenes of some of her big-screen work and also dished on her new Capitol Couture collection for Net-a-Porter.

Marissa Webb's Spring 2014 show was ripe with styling tips to be mined, whether easy tricks to shrink the waistline or a cheeky take on borrowing from the boys. Jauntily knotted obi belts gave tops a peplum feel while defining the silhouette, and moto jackets kept voluminous blouses in check. Menswear had an appearance, too, with monochromatic button-downs and skinny ties being worn under a corset-top minidress. Whichever side of the style spectrum is your fancy, she presented something to please.
See all the photos and video of the collection here.
Heidi Klum is no stranger to the fashion world. She was a runway model and Victoria's Secret Angel for years and is the founder and host of Project Runway and Germany's Next Top Model. So it doesn't come as a surprise that the model, designer, and mom of four would be taking in shows during New York Fashion Week. We caught up with Heidi backstage at BCBG Max Azria, where she talked to us about Project Runway's upcoming finale ("we had so many tears on the runway this season") as well as her favorite way to put a spin on a Max Azria original, saying, "Just chop it off!"
Heidi also admitted excitement over sending her kids back to school after the Summer break, telling us that "it's a long time for them to be off. I mean, I love them . . . but three months!" Watch on to see our candid interview with Heidi, and make sure to check out the Project Runway season 12 finalists presenting their runway collections tomorrow.
Update: It has been confirmed that Gwyneth Paltrow and Stella McCartney are working on a capsule collection, which will include denim, jumpsuits, classic blazers, and handbags. Of the collaboration, Gwyneth told WWD: "We complement each other. It was the right time. We're very close friends. We were bringing two worlds together and it was important not to force them." Not that we need a reason to ooh and aah over adorable photos of best friends Gwyneth Paltrow and Stella McCartney together, but since it was announced that the fashionable duo will be collaborating on a special project with Goop, Gwyneth's lifestyle site, we jumped at the opportunity. Before it launches on Sept. 13, click through to see adorable snaps of the pals, dating all the way back to 1999!
