It's that time of year again: it's music festival season! Coachella's second weekend kicks off on Friday — with Bonnaroo, Outside Lands, Lollapalooza, and more to follow. So what's topping our packing list? A standout crossbody bag, tribal wooden necklaces, and a pair of patent boots, to name a few. Watch on as our reporters Matthew Rodrigues and Allison McNamara talk all things music-festival style. On Allison McNamara: BCBG Max Azria jacket and top, Forever 21 skirt.
So you’ve stocked your closet full of the latest spring trends (hello lace and stripes!). But now that it’s time to actually wear your new threads, you can’t figure out how to make them look office appropriate. This is a common case of confusion that affects every working girl at one time or another. That said, today I’m going to show you how to style 5 spring trends so that they can be wearable in the workplace . . .
Trend #1: Stripes
While your pinstripe shorts and tank tops might show off a little too much skin for work, there are still endless ways to wear this pattern in the office. I love the look of a black and white striped blazer paired with neutral separates. And a classic pinstripe button-down blouse can give a lackluster dress suit some flair.
Trend #2: Printed Pants
I’m having a love affair with floral and ikat denim for spring, but not all offices consider jeans part of their dress code. Put a professional twist on the trend with a pair of patterned silk pants that look more formal than jeans. I would suggest keeping within a general color scheme so that your look doesn’t come off as loud. Also, black and white patterns tend to come off a little more sophisticated than colorful ones.
Everyone else, submit your looks, and we just might feature you on POPSUGAR Fashion!

Yellow has steadily moved onto our radar since we saw it pop up on the Spring 2013 runways — Oscar de la Renta, Michael Kors, and DKNY all showcased cheery yellow hues, which is why we've rounded up some standout accessories to help you jump on the bright Spring color trend. From a sporty backpack to a pair or patent flats, watch on to see our picks now. On Allison McNamara: Forever 21 jacket and top.
Today is Victoria Beckham's 39th birthday! When we think of impeccably chic women, we picture Victoria strutting hard in a pencil skirt, sunglasses, and sky-high heels. The fashion lover-cum-designer has nailed her signature style and often leaves us wondering: how does she do it? If you've done your research, as we have, then you'll realize this is a woman with a serious commitment to her look. While there have been undeniable changes in her fashionable aesthetic (like breaking her own no-flats rule), VB never does anything halfway; she rocks it head to toe. Here's a fashion flashback dedicated to her on her big day. Happy birthday to the fashion artist formerly known as Posh!
Jennifer Aniston hit the red carpet for the premiere of Call Me Crazy last night in an all-black ensemble from the Christian Dior Spring '13 collection. The two-piece number featured a tuxedo-style bodice paired with shorts that showed off her toned legs. While it's been mentioned that Jennifer might be having her wedding to fiancé Justin Theroux sometime soon, Jennifer revealed that she still has yet to pick out her dress. We'll keep you updated on Jen's wedding plans, but for now, enjoy this episode of Fashion Flash. On Allison McNamara: Carrie Parry dress, Jemma Sands necklace.
Craving an exotic escape, or at least a virtual one? Then you must take in Tory Burch's Spring 2013 lookbook, shot in Tulum by photographer Norman Jean Roy. Featuring models Tati Cotliar, Shu Pei, and Ophelie Rupp, the collection fuses Burch's signature American prep with free-spirited, bohemian detailing — read: beading, embroidery, pom-poms, fringe, and, of course, exotic colors and prints. Some of our must-have pieces include a printed shorts suit with matching blouse and bag, a tie-dyed midi skirt, and a pair of floral-appliqué strappy sandals that are sure to get your feet some attention. Not everyone is blessed with supermodel genes, so with warmer weather springing up, we're looking for ways to lengthen our stems before slipping into our cute shorts and Summer dresses. Our secret weapon to instantly longer legs? Nude sandals — and this season, the virtual shelves are stocked with covetable styles to complete your ensembles. The key to maximum leg-lengthening appeal is making sure your ankle straps are always nude-hued; it's also amazing what a nude-hued pedicure can do (we love Essie's Sand Tropez option) for an even more seamless look. From white dresses to bright prints, nude sandals work with just about any outfit (the power of neutrals!), so needless to say, they're worth the investment. Big budget or small, we've got you covered — click on to see and shop our favorite nude sandals on the market right now!
