We won't lie — this week was really exciting. The presidential inauguration was Monday, which included not one, but many stunning looks from our very fashionable first lady. From her Reed Krakoff cardigan and covet-worthy J.Crew accessories to her impeccably tailored Thom Browne coat and her showstopping Jason Wu red gown, Michelle Obama was a style tour de force. Lest we forget, Katy Perry, Eva Longoria, and Beyoncé also turned it out in chic looks for the inauguration. The week outside of the presidential festivities kept us on our toes, too. There was Paris Couture Fashion Week, the announcement of the newest face of H&M's eco-conscious line, and the best sartorial moments from Sundance thus far. Keep clicking to catch up on it all.
It's rare to come across a red carpet these days that doesn't play host to (at least) one stunning Elie Saab gown. The Lebanese designer has, in effect, become a go-to source for glamorous premiere dresses and award-show fare, and we have a hunch it has everything to do with his penchant for dense embroidery, princess-gown silhouettes, and decadent embellishing. Saab's Couture Spring '13 collection debuted in Paris today, and with it came 48 ethereal confections practically begging to be worn to some fancy gala. We can easily imagine Keira Knightley slipping into one of the icy-hued, crystalline-embroidered tulle gowns, or perhaps Gwyneth Paltrow taking on one of the crisp white body-skimming gowns as an homage to last year's standout Tom Ford number at the Oscars. We also spotted a funkier printed sheath in a '50s-inspired shape that has Kerry Washington written all over it. Luckily, we're smack dab in the middle of award season, and with the SAG Awards this Sunday, we're hoping to see any one of these 11 gowns sooner rather than later. Click on for our Elie Saab Couture picks and who we'd like to see wearing them on a red carpet near you.

In the way of celebrity style fodder, we're looking to Couture Week, the inauguration, a few film premieres (hello, Jennifer Lopez), and even Sundance to draw from the most glamorous of the week. There's no shortage of high-impact red-carpet wear here — and even a glimpse of what the Couture collections look like off the runway, thanks to Leelee Sobieski in a stunning Dior confection straight from Raf Simons's Spring '13 lineup. As for the sexier side of things, Chrissy Teigen delivered with a bombshell moment at the inauguration, while Emily Blunt's Alexander McQueen look was the best blend of sultry and sleek. That's not even the half of it — the rest of this week's best dressed are all inside.
