The American Film Institute held its annual awards luncheon in Los Angeles today, and the stars who showed up all managed to look casual and chic at once.

Lots of the ladies on the red carpet opted for simple sweaters — Sandra Bullock [1] wore a beige crewneck, and Christina Hendricks went for a blue cardigan — or plain shirts, and many added excitement with a great shoe. Lizzy Caplan punched up her all-black ensemble with strappy red Bionda Castana heels.

Lupita Nyong'o
