Alexander McQueen Madison Avenue Flagship Opens

Hide Your Credit Card: Alexander McQueen Opens New Madison Avenue Flagship

When princesses come to you for bespoke wedding gowns and Hollywood's A-list depends on you for Oscars night, choosing a new look and location for your NYC flagship is no small enterprise. So when Alexander McQueen opens its doors at 747 Madison Ave. this week, shoppers will see the immense amount of thought and detail that went into the brand's new retail identity, as conceptualized by the brand's Creative Director Sarah Burton.

With bold plaster moldings that echo the lines of the brand's famously tailored jackets as well as the now-iconic "Armadillo" shoe, the store has an undeniable Baroque glamour. Working with David Collins Studio to bring the store to fruition, it's all in the details (as always for McQueen) with black marble floors leading to black lacquer and brass hanging racks with the soft color palette of dove gray, blush, lilac, gold, and white. Visit the store the next time you're uptown, but don't blame us if you don't leave empty handed.
