Miranda Kerr never ceases to elicit jaw drops with her polished off-duty style, and her latest look is no exception. During a day out in NYC, the model paired this Topshop Blurry Floral skirt ($96) with a basic white tank, then punched things up even further with a hot-pink crossbody bag. Tortoiseshell Miu Miu sunglasses and these Alexander Wang tan strappy sandals ($298, originally $595) completed her look. To sweeten your Summer style à la Miranda Kerr, score her exact floral Topshop skirt and sandals, then sport them with a simple tank, bold bag, and statement sunglasses. The work Alexander Wang has done in his first six months at the helm of Balenciaga has been so well-received it's hard to believe he didn't want the job in the first place. But in an interview with Vogue's Mark Holgate, Wang said it took some near-divine intervention to get him to sign on the dotted line.
"My first reaction to [Kering CEO Francois Henri-Pinault] was no," Wang said. "I told him that I was so preoccupied with what I am doing with my own brand in New York, and . . . I'll be the most hated man in fashion!"
For guidance, Wang sought the help of a psychic who told him taking the job — and replacing the house's beloved former creative director Nicolas Ghesquière — was his fate. But eventually, Wang came to the conclusion that he wanted the job on his own.
"I felt that fear was driving my decision-making," he said. "So I wrote down a list of pros and cons and asked myself, 'What am I afraid of? The perception of failure? The perception of what people might think?' I knew that what I wanted completely outweighed all of that."

Hot days and humid nights are more often a formula for outfit disaster than perfect style. Fortunately, a striped tee that calls to mind chic Summer style icons like Audrey Hepburn or Jean Seberg is an easy starting point for a no-fail outfit formula. Just add a breezy mid-length skirt (too short and too tight is never fun when it's hot outside), and finish off with a little sophistication via a great pair of espadrilles or sandals. All you have to think about is what jewelry you'll wear — maybe a great statement necklace for dinner out — and decide where you're going. We're all about Summer fun, but sometimes that's difficult to do in heels. That's where the borrowed-from-the-boys oxford comes in. The lower-heel profile makes them comfortable, but don't fret, they don't lose an ounce of cool. Whether the silhouette is classic (think brogue detailing and a patent finish) or culls fashion-forward accents like metallic shine, exotic texture, leather cutouts, or colorblocking, there's certainly a more dynamic way to interpret (read: wear) the flat oxford look. Luckily, 3.1 Phillip Lim, Marc by Marc Jacobs, and even Zara have all crafted their own versions to appeal to a handful of style personalities. As for execution? Remember that these shoes work for day and night — and as long as you show a little ankle (at the very least), you're good to go. Click on for 19 of our favorite Summer oxford picks now.
