Oversize Safety Pins: Love It or Hate It?

The memories I have of safety pinning my clothes all involve either a pesky fit issue or an impending wardrobe malfunction. That being said, I wasn't sure what to make of these pieces from Ann-Sofie Back. They are super cute and look amazingly comfy, but I'm on the fence about having a giant safety pin keeping my pants or blouse together. What do you think – would you make a statement with safety pins?

I use to have one of these to close my plaid wrap skirt. Yes...old like me. Leave it in the past.

ooh, i'm so on the fence -- it's a fine styling line between diaper and edgy. also, i'd be worried about looking like a faux punk.... i seem to remember in high school that i ripped a black shirt from the neck to the wrist and then held it together with safety pins. i also had blue streaks in my hair. yeesh.

You guys are crazy! They're awesome. The holes-in-clothes thing is a problem, but from what I can tell they're oversized kilt pins, not safety pins, and for me that's a big difference. It means, somehow, that they're more humourous than edgy.
