The look coming down the Anna Sui Fall 2013 runway took a playful spin on the '60s! Hairstylist Garren, who works with Anna every season, took inspiration from a Catherine Deneuve photo and updated her signature bouffant into a pageboy style, wrapping hair around a ponytail and tucking it under for the pouf effect. For the girls with short hair, like Karlie Kloss and Jessica Stam, watch the video to find out his personalized hair plan of attack. Makeup artist Pat McGrath created the adorable — and wearable — '60s look, sticking with a strong cat eye and dots under the bottom lashes for a mod twist. Much like the choreographed dance that started the runway show, the look was the perfect mix of playful and coy. We can't wait to try the look ourselves.

Anna Sui's Fall '13 show opened with a choreographed number set to punchy '60s French pop music and led by Karlie Kloss and Hilary Rhoda. From there, the models came down the runway smiling and, most importantly, showcasing a psychedelic mix of retro '60s wares, most likely inspired by the many moods and stylings of one seriously cool Parisian girl. Schoolgirl sheaths in mod prints, glam-rock separates in gold metallics, and breezy, bohemian-esque dresses in bold pops of color all made an appearance — see every moment (plus the opening number!) when you keep watching.

The Anna Sui Fall '13 show was destined to be a fun one as soon as it opened to infectious '60s French pop music and a choreographed dance, led by none other than Karlie Kloss. From there, it was a retro '60s lineup that catered to the various moods of one very cool, very psychedelic Parisian girl. From the more charming schoolgirl pieces in blues, greens, and cinnamon reds to the glam-rocker embellishments and metallic golds to the more easygoing bohemian-esque crocheted dresses and paisley-printed separates, there was a silhouette for every styling personality. Before she was a major name in American fashion, Anna Sui was a little girl whose mother dressed her "like a doll." Which means getting a military vehicle as a Christmas present probably wasn't on brand.

"As a little kid, we used to go to my father's fraternity, and they'd have a Christmas party," Sui told us at a party for her collaboration with Coach last month. "One year I got a truck — an Army truck — and I just thought, 'boy that's really a gyp!' Then many years later I found out that this uncle spent his own money and bought everybody's kid a present. So I think it was just a mix up, you know, an oversight, whatever. But I was really disappointed back then on that day."

Sui added that she'll be spending the holidays with her family in Bloomfield Hills, MI. "I love the holidays because I have nine nieces and nephews, so it's very Christmas-y to buy presents and toys," she said. "I'm hoping that I can give my nieces some of these bags, but I don't know what I wish to receive." Hopefully it won't be another truck.
