>> Last week, British singer Adele announced she was getting the Vogue treatment for the Grammys — she was scheduled to shoot a spread for the magazine with Annie Leibovitz, and Anna Wintour wanted to meet her during her final fitting last Monday. "It was just like The Devil Wears Prada," Adele said. "It was amazing. I was really frightened and I went in and she was so nice. She was like, 'What labels do you like?' I was trying to make up these designers that I was quite sure I had read in Vogue or something before." Anna ended up offering to style her for the awards show, and Adele got "a really nice dress" out of the bargain.
Adele walked the red carpet last night in a Barbara Tfank flared black dress — which Vogue had custom-made for the occasion — and a green jacket that looked like something Wintour might wear herself, a tuxedoed Hamish Bowles on her arm. Another Vogue celebrity styling debacle has been avoided, and we might even get a chronicle of the experience in Vogue — my best guess for Hamish's appearance on the red carpet.
