The Best Awards Show Pictures You Haven't Seen!

Mar 3 2014 - 6:00pm

We've obsessed over the full-length shots of gorgeous gowns from all of this year's awards shows, including the stunners from last night's Oscar awards [1]. But we can't help wondering if we're the only ones who have to fight an urge to lean into our TV sets and pinch, swipe, or otherwise cajole the image to get bigger and show off more of the little details that aren't always so apparent.

If you're of the same style persuasion, you've come to the right place. We've found the best close-up shots that show off the little delicate bits, like luxurious lace, the insane beading, and the back views of all those cascading trains. All about shoes? We've got you covered there, too [2]!

Oscars

Cate Blanchett [3]'s Armani [4] Privé dress was stunning from any direction, but we especially loved seeing it fan out as she walked the steps to accept her award.

Oscars

The volume of Lupita Nyong'o's Prada [5] dress meant it was lots of fun for her to play with [6], but it looked gorgeous standing still, too.

Oscars

It might've been her husband's big night, but Camila Alves looked like a dream in this light pink draped Gabriela Cadena dress.

Oscars

That's no ordinary necklace on Jennifer Lawrence. The pricey piece was laid evenly over her shoulders like a superglamorous yoke.

Oscars

Angelina Jolie [7]'s golden Elie Saab [8] dress was sexy from the front, but from behind? Pure glamour.

Oscars

And the sheer fabric let her famous tattoos peek through.

Oscars

Oscars

And oh how it moved!

Oscars

We found the best angle to showcase the cascading train of Kristen Bell [12]'s Roberto Cavalli [13] dress.

Oscars

A zoomed-in shot showed off the pretty corset details.

Oscars

And up close, the sequin work is extra impressive.

Oscars

The front of Anne Hathaway [14]'s Gucci [15] dress featured glamorous rhinestones, but this sultry shot might show the best angle. A wide-open back lets her shoulder blades stand out, while a slit allows her ankle-strap heels to show.
