After much contemplation, we've come up with our top six contenders for shoe designer of the year. Here are our choices: Christian Louboutin, Jeffrey Campbell, Brian Atwood, Sergio Rossi, Pour La Victoire, and Miu Miu. A nice mix of high and low, yes? Well, sort of; we love our designer shoes. Help us decide who gets the accolade. Divulge — whose designs rocked your soles this year?

Agree with above posters - as much as I revere Louboutin's elegant heels, Nicholas Kirkwood's most recent collections are the only ones that have ever made me salivate and lust to such a severe extent, I fear I may lose control...

i voted Louboutin not based on the shoes up there,just overall Louboutin has so many hot shoes!

anything but Louboutin! so tired of his one million versions of the peep-toe pump which I hated to begin with - I can;t pick between the rest though, but maybe Brian Atwood...

I totally agree with nourhayaty! i went for miu miu, cuz christian louboutin wasn't that creative compare to miu miu this year! but where are giuseppe zanotti or chloe leaf collection's options?? chloe really did something new in my opinion.

Personally I prefer Nicholas Kirkwood, Martin Margiela, Balenciaga, Azzedine Alaia, and Lanvin. I like Christina Louboutin and own some but they are kinda played out. I say look out for Charlotte Olympia in 2009.

I don't freak over where my heels come from so long as they look good, and OMG thoese brian atwoods are delightful.

The YSL Tribute was the shoe (sandal) of the year.

DRIES VAN NOTEN! is that even a question? oh and guiseppe zanotti comes in second, sharing the spot with YSL (tribute!!) and lanvin( a personal favorite).... 3rd goes to marni and oh, givenchy gets an honorable mention. yepp, thats my list. but i must admit miu miu is also fab! ugh grreat now im craving more shoes! off to neimans it is....

i had to vote brian atwood. Loubs were amazing this year but my favorite shoes of the year were actually Givenchy's. I also love the Christain Louboutin for Rodarte shoes from the Sprin 2008 collection. But I felt that brian atwood did an exceptional job this year and really broke through!

i think Miu Miu did really nice shoe design this year Loubs is a master but i think his designs this year were not that creative as Miu Miu

I'm not really a fan of any shoe trends this year. I love my high, spiky heels, but I can't stand the platform thing. I don't care how expensive they are, they always scream "stripper" to me.
