Black-Rimmed Glasses: Love It or Hate It?

Geek chic is all the rage, but have you adopted it yet? I feel the need to geek out every once in a while, and my style reflects it. Cate Blanchett is definitely one who can get away with test driving questionable trends and she embodies geek chic here with her black-rimmed glasses. Other celebs like Chloe Sevigny and Amy Sedaris have shown their true geek colors via specs as well. What do you think? Are you ready to go from totally geek to totally chic?

I agree that I love guys with black-rimmed glasses, but I also think a lot of girls look great with them. However, as much as I love her, I don not like them on Cate Blanchett...

the first Christmas present I gave my husband was a pair of glasses like that. There was a recent pic of Zachary Quinto sporting a pair of those....le swoon!

Ok, confession time: If a man is wearing black rimmed glasses, I am probably 60% more likely to be attracted to him. Honestly. I do not know what it is, but it's been a few years where literally, I will do double takes on any man in dark rimmed glasses. Floppy dark hair is a plus. Maybe it screams a certain type of person (bookish, reads the news, plays scrabble, listens to sufjan stevens) I dunno. But for whatever reason they are a total turn on. My friends joke that I have a glasses fetish. And I suppose in the realm of fetishes, it's on the less weird side, right?

I just bought a pair of tortoise shell glasses with blue on the inside. My old wire frame glasses were ugly, and since i'm a little geeky, then these were perfect. Good for days when I don't feel like wearing contacts.

I think they are okay with a smaller frame like a small square frame but not on something thick and rounded.

i LOVE statement glasses that don't excuse themselves by trying to be rimless! i've got a darling pair of marc jacobs tortoise shell glasses that go perfectly with my geeky/messy preppy style.
