Black and White Trend at People's Choice Awards 2014

Picking This Winner Is Not So Black and White

While we were hoping to see some colorful gowns on tonight's red carpet, these black and white looks were a pretty stylish consolation prize. We were reminded just how chic the classic two-tone palette can be — and impressed with its many iterations. Emily Deschanel gave us a ladylike version in a pleated BCBG Max Azria gown and the accessories to match! Sarah Michelle Gellar opted for black and white glamour in the form of a halter-style dress, while host Beth Behrs showed off the sleekest look of the night in a white column gown with a black contrasting panel.

Adding to tonight's black-and-white-trend takeover, Nina Dobrev's glittering Jenny Packham dress played to the theme with its contrasting embellishments, which became all the more striking under the bright lights. And, if you were looking for a sexier take on the color motif, Malin Akerman certainly took care of that in an abstract-print, cutout Cushnie et Ochs number. Now that you've got the details, it's time to pick a winner. Which of these stars could inspire you to ditch the color wheel?
