Mrs. O: The Face of Fashion Democracy ($18) follows the first lady's wardrobe choices, from her wedding dress to her White House getups. You'll also find interviews with designers like Maria Pinto, Isabel Toledo, and Jason Wu, who have all dressed Michelle. The author is Mary Tomer, the same person who started the Mrs. O blog, which reports about Michelle's daily outfits.

I love Michelle Obama's style. I think the excitement about it stems from the fact that since Jackie O., over four decades ago, the first ladies have dressed rather safely. I love the fact she mixes J. Crew outfits with Narciso Rodriguez and higher end designers. I can't wait to get this and to get copies for my friends. Great holiday gift!

@Lady.Maat: HUH? Just because I don't think Michelle Obama is a fashion icon does not make me a white supremacist. I think that's an incredibly inflammatory allegation to throw out. I just don't think she dresses well for her shape, and no, she is not an icon like Jackie O.

Judging by the several negative comments (comparing M.O. to J.K.) and the comments about Joy Bryant, it seems that COMMENTERS wish this site was called White Supremacist Sugar. The hate is pathetic. I understand the impact both women have on style in the white house. Both their styles are iconic. M.O. mixes the high and low for a chic modern look, suitable for today's first lady on the go. M.O.'s style is admired and emulated by many. Look up the word ICON. There can be more than one.

Yes, I like her and she dresses well but she isn't Mrs. Kennedy Onassis. I do think she may be the first lady in awhile that dresses in a way that is flattering and that may be similar to well dressed working women. You know not like Barbara Bush or Hilary Clinton's suits but nicer and modern. Still agree with the above comments though.
