Burberry Prorsum Resort 2014: Introducing the New Girl Next Door

Burberry Prorsum Resort 2014 was meant for the "girl next door," but it seems Christopher Bailey's girl next door is a much sexier kind of neighbor.

Burberry Prorsum Resort 2014 was meant for the "girl next door," but it seems Christopher Bailey's girl next door is a much sexier kind of neighbor. The collection mixed the pillars of a warm-weather wardrobe (sheerness, lightness, and lots of cutouts) with body-con silhouettes and tight pencil skirts — a nod to his Fall 2013 collection, it appears.

Standout versions of Bailey's pencil skirt came covered in stretchy, pastel-hued lace, and will later have removable lining added, in case you're not ready to reveal all. Looks were layered with the brand's iconic trench coats, each punctuated with glass bead embellishments, and finished with a colorful foldover clutch and white peep-toe wedge booties.

Eveningwear made an equally loud splash, and for Bailey, the outward likability of these black and white gowns should be reason enough to expect even more eveningwear in his Spring and Fall collections.

Cannes Best Dressed: Crown Your Red Carpet Queen

Far outweighing the glamour of most other red carpets, the Cannes Film Festival is as much about the jaw-dropping couture as it is about the movies.

Far outweighing the glamour of most other red carpets, the Cannes Film Festival is as much about the jaw-dropping couture as it is about the movies. This year's fest was no exception — from start to finish, we were treated to a lineup of A-list dressing. Given the nonstop glamour, it's not easy to play favorites, but we've narrowed it down to just a handful of the most stunning Cannes arrivals. Cara Delevingne lit up the scene in a sultry black lace Burberry gown, Freida Pinto wowed in brilliant color with a bright pink Gucci gown, and Jessica Biel hit the carpet in a frothy, feathery Marchesa confection and a megawatt serpent necklace.

Not to be outdone, Marion Cotillard dazzled in an elegant white Dior dress, and Nicole Kidman played official juror in a decadent and ultrafeminine Valentino Couture gown. Of these five most memorable fashion moments, who's your Cannes red carpet queen? Cast your vote now.

Met Gala: Sienna Miller and Cara Delevingne Face Off in Burberry Studs

It's the battle of the Brits: Sienna Miller and Cara Delevingne both hit the Costume Institute Gala red carpet wearing similar studded looks from Burberry.

It's the battle of the Brits: Sienna Miller and Cara Delevingne both hit the Costume Institute Gala red carpet wearing similar studded looks from Burberry. Sienna decided to contrast her fluid crepe white gown with a black studded leather biker jacket and a matching spiked headband, while Cara opted for a black studded plunge-neck column gown, complete with an equally tough white leather clutch. Both beauties channeled punk-cool to perfection, but which Met Gala look do you prefer?

Selena's Black Trench Gets a Surprising Finish — Do You Approve?

The 3.1 Phillip Lim ensemble Selena Gomez showed off yesterday was floral perfection, but her latest all-black look is slightly more controversial.

The 3.1 Phillip Lim ensemble Selena Gomez showed off yesterday was floral perfection, but her latest all-black look is slightly more controversial. So we're putting it up to a vote. But first, let's break down her look. The singer-actress stopped by the Late Show With David Letterman in a black trench coat, which she wore as a dress. Then, things took an unexpected turn with the finishing touch of these Brian Atwood black cutout boots ($1,750). Classic chic up top, tough girl on bottom. But that's not all! Selena then threw in another surprising twist via a gold bindi on her forehead (which we saw her previously sport onstage at the MTV Movie Awards). Take a good look at Selena's entire ensemble, then tell us: do you approve?

Jessica Hart's Practical Play on Pastels Is What We Want to Wear Now

Jessica Hart had us at her lavender skinny jeans, but if we're looking to the rest of the outfit's components, there's no denying the cool balance struck between quintessential Spring elements and the more functional pieces owed to the chillier NYC climate.

Jessica Hart had us at her lavender skinny jeans, but if we're looking to the rest of the outfit's components, there's no denying the cool balance struck between quintessential Spring elements and the more functional pieces owed to the chillier NYC climate. While the model's pastel-hued denim choice provided us with the most overt nod to seasonal fare, there were more subtle add-ons that only furthered the effect of her Spring-minded ensemble. Look to the neutral zigzag-print Missoni bag, classic Burberry trench coat, dusty-pink sweater, yellow loafers, and polka-dotted iPhone case for easy ways to incorporate a lighter vibe. These pieces work well together — or as individual statements — and if you're not ready to commit to the bolder-hued jean staple, let these accents do the talking instead. Now that you've got the gist of how Hart's look makes the transition to Spring a colorful and practical one, shop the essentials below.
