She constantly pushed her style to another level, yet never took it to a kooky place. Let's be honest. Throughout most of this show, Carrie Bradshaw dressed like a homeless person on crack. From giant pink pimp hats and that hideously out of date necklace with her name to tulle tutus to things that just plain did not go together and would make people think you are a loon -- even in NYC -- I didn't know how on earth this character was supposedly a style icon. The few good things she wore were the exception, not the rule. Nothing this girl wore should be emulated. It was pure costume and not fashion. Maybe it was novel to the generation who didn't live through the Seventies, but frankly, the Seventies stuff was as frumpy then as it is now. I guess if you like Rachel Zoe and her frumpy BS, giant sunglasses and crocheted pimp caps and enjoy looking like a young bag lady, you'll be intrigued by Carrie Bradshaw.

Amazing but it is so scary how some of your comments are seriously coming from my mind. Esp. the mickey tee and blazer as well as the midriff baring gucci fanny pack outfit!! I actually went and got that gucci bag!

I could call Every episode from the outfit alone! I adore carrie's style, and, although it's a little sad, SATC truly helped me realize long ago that risk-taking is what fashion is all about.

isn't it crazy that alot of the things she used to wear are seriously on trend currently? examples: OTK boots, furs, and especially pattern mixing. that coat/dress/pink loubbies (the outfit for the last date w/ big and when brady was born) and all of her paris looks are my absolute favorites. esp the grey versace. that dress dreamy and it makes me swoon everytime!

I'm more envious of her amazing legs and tiny waist! And her hair, I've big hair but I wish it had nice volume like hers! Most of the time it's her hairdoes that make the outfit to me.
