Celebrities Who Played Designer in 2007

Celebrities have become a designing powerhouse in their own right, and in 2007, more Fab faces joined the fray. Mary-Kate and Ashley added cool contemporary line Elizabeth and James; SJP launched the budget-friendly Bitten at Steve & Barry's; Gwen's little L.A.M.B. made a runway comeback; Lauren Conrad reached her dream of becoming a designer; and both Sienna Miller and Penelope Cruz teamed with their sisters to cull up some seriously sizzlin' clothes. Admittedly: some of them were hits and some were misses. You all know how much I look to Celebrity Style for inspiration, so here's to hoping 2008 brings just as many fun collaborations!

I have several pieces from Bitten, and yes, they're all very basic, but hey, I'm a college girl with zip time in the mornings, that's what I need! I've actually got a white Bitten thermal on at the moment, with a white tank top and a pair of ancient hole-y jeans. I'm comfy, dernit! Bonus, all the stuff at the S&B by me is 8.98 for their winter clearance. I scored two peacoats (!), several thermals and sweaters from Bitten, and a t-shirt for a friend for 56 bucks. Can't beat that with a stick.

SJP is great. I have not purchased any of the Bitten line but after the holidays I plan on doing some shopping.

SJP's Bitten is great. I have several pieces and I love them. I agree with socialitebabe about the layering, mixing and matching, and affordability. We can't all "invest" tons of money on clothes, or want to.

I <3 the olsen's collection, but I'm too broke to buy any of it! :( LC's collection sucked. I could get that stuff at Target for a fraction of what she priced it at.

I hate Gwen's line. Never thought she was fashionable. L.A.M.B. is okay, but as for Harajuku Lovers...that's just downright ugly.

I really disliked laurens line very boring she really isn't a good designer. haven't looked at SJp's yet.

I have to say I am sick of these celebrity lines. I hope the real designers behind the brands that are doing the legwork are getting paid well.

Well I love SJP! Her heart was in the right place when she designed Bitten. How many celebs really think about the average woman's budget? I admit the clothes are a bit dull but they are practical pieces. They are great for layering and you can always jazz them up with higher end pieces. I just bought a beautiful velvet pinstrip blazer from her collection.
