"I come from a family that embraces artistic expression," Charlotte Ronson said last night. The designer was the guest of honor at a fete for Nivea's new Kiss of Style cap contest, which encourages people to express their creativity by designing their own lip balm packaging. Ronson got in on the action, too, creating packaging inspired by the geometric designs of her Fall 2012 collection. Fancy yourself a designer, too? Starting Aug. 1, you can create your own cap using an extensive list of colors and design elements ranging from graffiti to Victoriana. Ronson will select the top 10 finalists, with the winning design appearing on shelves next year.
Nicole Richie was the center of attention last night at a bash held inside NYC's Daniel restaurant. The cause for celebration was Nicole Richie's collection for Macy's Impulse, which will be in stores this September. Her limited-edition designs, 25 pieces in all, are inspired by music and will feature chiffon, zippers, and faux leather. Her husband, Joel Madden, wasn't able to attend, as he's in LA with their kids, Harlow and Sparrow. Joel's brother Josh, though, was able to make up the Madden numbers. Nicole also held court with pals like Charlotte Ronson and Teen Vogue editor Amy Astley. The party was the latest Big Apple event for Nicole. Anne Hathaway wore Dolce & Gabbana to join her fiancé, Adam Shulman, a the NYC premiere of Shut Up and Play the Hits, a documentary about the band LCD Soundsystem, at NYC's Village East Cinema last night. The movie, a behind-the-scenes look at the band's last show ever, on April 2, 2011, will only be in theaters for one night, next Wednesday, July 18.
Engaged duo Anne and Adam checked out the film alongside Anne's pal, Whitney actress Zoe Lister-Jones, and her own boyfriend, Daryl Wein. Nylon celebrated its May issue last night at the Hollywood Roosevelt, where we caught up with adorable Don't Trust the B---- in Apt 23 actress Dreama Walker, clad in a chic Jenni Kayne blouse with a flippy Charlotte Ronson skirt. If you watch the show, you know from the onscreen fashions that Dreama's character, June, is super preppy and polished. So how does Dreama's style differ from June's? "June's a lot more modest. I like to think that I take more risks," Dreama told us. "June wears a lot of really cute cardigans and a lot of really bright colors, which I love color as well, but June's really into the brights."
As for her offscreen personal style, the actress spilled: "I like everything almost. I love shopping, mixing high and low, I love a little bit of boho chic, I love stuff that's vintage inspired. I love clothes and I love shopping. I do it all the time." So with Spring in the mix, what are some of Dreama's go-to pieces right now? "I've been loving maxi skirts and dresses. It's so nice to just put on a dress and not have to worry about matching something," she shared. "I have my monogram necklace that I wear almost every day. And I love my [Louis Vuitton] Speedy bag."

Salvatore Ferragamo celebrated the launch of its new fragrance, Signorina, with a big, pink, star-studded bash in NYC last night. Kate Mara, Emma Roberts, and Chrissy Teigen were among the guests who stepped out to take in the girlie soiree at Manhattan's famously bright Palazzo Chupi building. AnnaSophia Robb, who is the new Carrie Bradshaw in The Carrie Diaries, also posed in front of the flower-covered step and repeat. The party featured cotton candy, strawberry marshmallows, a giant pink chandelier, and blush-colored balloons all over to compete the look. Chrissy was coming from a screening of The Hunger Games, and right after seeing the film she tweeted her quick review, calling it unexpectedly "great."
