Welcome to throwback Thursday! This week in '90s news, ~~boy~~ man band 98 Degrees has released a new song called "Microphone," which may or may not be alluding to a certain part of the male anatomy. Also, Clarissa Explains It All is going to be a book, and we uncovered an adorable clip of Mouseketeers-turned-heartthrobs Justin Timberlake and Ryan Gosling.

We can't help but get nostalgic thinking about growing up in the 1990s. Remembering those days reminds us of the music, fashion, heartthrobs, toys, and TV shows that made the '90s totally rad. So let's take a trip down memory lane to our '90s girlhood, from Ring Pops, 90210, and Clueless to stick-on earrings, Devon Sawa, and Titanic! Check it out!

Our favorite wise teen Clarissa Darling is coming back, but she'll be dishing her thoughts on page instead of on screen. The '90s Nickelodeon show Clarissa Explains It All is returning as a book, Things I Can't Explain. Slated for release in late 2014, the book would catch up with a 23-year-old Clarissa trying to make it as a journalist slash "real adult" amidst the relationship drama that ensues.

We've all heard of books made into movies and TV shows, but not as much about the reverse scenario of a TV show inspiring a novel or book series. Turns out there are a handful of shows that began in the same nostalgic era as Clarissa — the '90s — that were then adapted into page-turners. There's often controversy on whether an adaptation is better or worse than its origin material, so I'm wondering: would you read it? And if you have, how did the book version stack up to the TV series?

Have you been watching The '90s Are All That block on Teen Nick this week? It's been a "rad" blast from the past, and it reminded me that Melissa Joan Hart had it good in the '90s. For the first half she played smart and thoughtful Clarissa Darling on Clarissa Explains It All, and then in the last half she was Sabrina, the Teenage Witch! Both characters were iconic '90s gals with a flair for sarcastic quips, but can you tell the difference between these Clarissa and Sabrina quotes?

Whenever anyone mentions '90s fashion trends, Clarissa Explains It All comes to mind. Clarissa's eclectic, fearless style was a breath of fresh air — and much sought after. She was a total expert at layering, mixing patterns, and pushing the sartorial envelope while staying age-appropriate (she even wore printed leggings under her ripped jeans). Her oversize button-downs, funky accessories, and Doc Martens were the epitome of cool — and though it was never clear where Clarissa shopped, I like to think she was a Goodwill kind-of girl. The minute Nickelodeon announced its intention to re-air the network's '90s hits, nostalgia swept over me for oldie-but-goodie series like Salute Your Shorts and Are You Afraid of the Dark. But there was one show that several of you brought up when we asked you for your favorite: Clarissa Explains It All. Clarissa's long monologues, sarcasm, and unconventional fashion sense made her pretty cool back in the day.

Oh Clarissa, how I've missed you.

Oh Clarissa, how I've missed you. With a wardrobe of overalls, Converse, chokers, polka-dots, and totes, your style was slightly grungy but girlie. I envied it all. Besides her wardrobe, I especially loved it when Sam would climb into her room through her window. It made me wish my best friend lived next door, too.
