DKNY Shelly Rivet Mary Jane: Love It or Hate It?

Mary Janes are one of my all time favorite shoe styles...although this vintage style is often abused. Shame! Take these DKNY Shelly Rivet Mary Janes, $100, for example. They attempted to toughen up the MJ with black leather and studs but these are just not right. I think they would have been perf if they just had the row of gold studs along the bottom, and not on the toe. The shape of the shoe is very feminine, so they got that right. What do you all think?

Yes these would look aesthetically more pleasing with studs on the platform only and would probably be just as dangerous. But they look great and edgy with the studs on the toe; they say watch out guys or else you could become eunuchs! As to Mary Jane's and the shape of these shoes being "feminine", I suppose that it depends upon what you mean. High-heels are generally feminine meaning female, but I get the impression that when some of you say "feminine" you mean soft and gentle (rather different from "feminist"); a ballerina flat with a round toe may be so, but how can a stiletto heel ever be this, - have you seen the damage they cause? Actually I am often amused at the different way that women and men can see women's high-heeled shoes, particularly stilettos. Perhaps you see them as 'dainty' bearing their light wearer who is so fairy-like that they can be so thin without breaking? As a male I see only a dangerous weapon, the tigress’s claws, capable of killing or maiming a man who steps too much out of line. Yet far from putting me off, this gets my respect and my admiration. Such a lady is at least an equal. Softness is to be protected; animalism is to go to bed with.

mary janes and studs don't mix! i think had it been a few at the bottom or dare i say the strap it might be okay but there are too many on the toe and i wouldnt like a single one there.
