Diane Kruger Bow Tied and Suspendered: Love It or Hate It?

One time, I tried wearing a bow tie and suspenders and ended up looking more like a waiter than a fashionista. Boo. At the Inglourious Basterds premiere in Australia, Diane Kruger stepped out wearing a Chanel ensemble, consisting of a sleeveless white shirt, dotted bow-tie, black suspenders, and black tapered trousers. I'm semienvious she has the confidence to wear not one but two men's pieces on the red carpet. No matter what Diane is wearing up top, she always wears feminine footwear, this time Christian Louboutin Mary Janes. Do you approve of this androgyny, or is it too literal for your taste?

I was going to say love it, but then I realized it was just because it's Diane Kruger. She looks gorgeous no mater what. But the outfit is a little too much for me.

hasn't she worn this before?! While I know this is not at all an original look (Chloe wore it too); I swear I've seen her wearing this look before. while I don't personally like so much menswear, and I think she still looks like a waiter (or worse, a Chippendales); I think she is one of the only people in the world that can pull it off...

A Million Suns hit the nail on the head.....Diane manages to make this look chic and not costume-y. i don't think anyone else could wear make this work though!

I've done the bow tie OR the suspenders, but not both. It definitely comes off as less chic, more waitress on me. Oddly enough, I actually have a really awesome cummerbund that I've worn every once in a while, which has been fun. It's really brilliant purple. That probably keeps it out of Maitre'd territory.
