Good news for Diane von Furstenberg's most accessories-obsessed fans: the iconic designer has opened her first boutique devoted solely to shoes, bags, wallets, and phone cases. Set in New York's Meatpacking District, the pink-carpet-lined shop is adorned with florescent lips in true DVF style. The concept, the designer told WWD, was a natural fit: "Accessories are really important to the company and this is the first shop we have dedicated to only accessories."
Initially carrying the pre-Fall line, which includes colorblock trapeze bags, metallic crossbodies, and ultrahigh wedge sandals, we're already anticipating Resort's arrival. Get your shopping list prepped and see the best of DVF's latest accessories here in the gallery.
So far, she's given us five equally gorgeous ensembles to admire. The latest is a white strapless lace dress. Before that, there were several hits, including a retro-chic, black bustier dress by Michael Kors for a photocall in Italy and a fit-and-flare dress from the London premiere. Step inside to get a closer look at Amy Adams's Man of Steel promotion ensembles, and check back for lots more red carpet moments from the leading lady.
The DVF woman is a woman on the go. From her morning coffee to her very last cocktail, she is constantly moving and changing. Or as von Furstenberg herself put it: "Every day is a turning point, offering a new perspective." Titled Kaleidoscope, her collection is a blend of bold colors and compelling prints, many of which appear as if you were viewing them from right inside the mirrored apparatus.
The playful-meets-powerful looks — floral decals on strong stripes, ruffles on leather, and metallic studs on soft cardigans — are meant to be effortless and mix-and-matchable, perfect for "la petite valise," or the little suitcase that is the accessory of choice for chic jet-setters. And, of course, no modern woman is complete without an update on a classic. The designer's signature wrap dress — which celebrates its 40th anniversary next year — has been redesigned with the classic side-tie jersey top now connected to a stiffer silk-blend flared skirt, adding all-new volume.
