Do Care Instructions Deter You From Buying Clothes? November 13, 2008 by POPSUGAR Fashion 20 Save 0 Favorite 0 Source Do Care Instructions Deter You From Buying Clothes? They certainly have. I can't be bothered with high-maintenance items. At times — it depends on the type of care the piece needs. Never . . . if I love something I'll gladly take care of it. Other — do tell! Allytta 5 years very often those labels are just BS. you can actually wash a lot of stuff that says you shouldn't, just do it right and the items will stay the same. littleladylove 5 years They don't deter me from buying but they deter me from wearing them! :( I buy them thinking "who cares" then realise later.. "oh crap". lizlee89 5 years no way, I love clothes too much! that is a fabulous picture... Xandara 5 years I refuse to buy dry clean only clothes. I only want to spend money on the clothes once, not every time I wear it! :/ Glittersniffer 5 years What Rosa said. I have to REALLY love it to spring for it when it's gonna require a dry cleaning visit. I am a tightarse. myystque 5 years I'm with verily--I don't pay attention to the care instructions when I wash my clothing and they rarely deter me from buying something. NatashaAlexis 5 years Depends how often I was planing on wearing it, if it is an item that I would only wear for an occasion then no, but every day wear yes. I don't have that much time on my hands that I can hand wash most of my clothing. RoyalBlueMoss 5 years Never! jenzene 5 years It also depends on how much I love the piece. ;) verily 5 years Nope, but I also kinda ignore the care instructions... I have a lot of handwash or dry clean only clothes. My front loader washing machine has a handwash cycle that has not destroyed a single one of my sweaters yet. My opinion is that unless it's beaded, sequined, suede, leather, or an extremely delicate antique, it can be washed. I don't even own any of the above. ;) As for drying, I lay them flat. thoroughlymodern 5 years I definitely try to avoid buying dry clean only items if they're something I'd wear (and have to get cleaned) a lot (coats are ok - just get it cleaned once a season!). But if the item's really special, I make an exception. Witchy Ways 5 years Ever since I moved out of my parents house and do my own laundy at my apartment, I certainly look first whether I can throw it into my washing machine or not. I don't care about "special" items as long as I don't have to wash them by hand (although there's not really much stuff anymore that you can't wash with the machine unless it's super high-maintenace). Lovely_1 5 years Nope. I have SO many clothes that already require special care...so it doesn't really matter :) emalove 5 years Not if I was crazy about the item...but generally, I like clothing that's easy to wash and take care of. RosaDilia 5 years No. Nowadays there are home dry cleaning kits and washers that can handle delicate items. It makes it so much easier, for me at least. Calimie 5 years I'd have to love something very much to buy it if it can't just be tossed in the washing maching or hand-washed. I don't like having separated pieces here or there. Anniina 5 years Buy now, deal later eu 5 years never Jessiebanana 5 years I love Alpaca and nothing will deter me from acquiring as many alpaca pieces as I want. amloveaffair 5 years We have to go to a laundry mat to do our laundry, if we didn't we may buy items that needed special care but it's too much of a hassle to do so. Even if we had a washer&Dryer it'd be a waste of energy.
