I have a velvet skirt that I love, but I think velvet often ends up looking too school girl. plus, that jumpsuit or whatever is awful...

i usually dont like velvet.. but i have this adorable black velevet corset type which is gorgeous.. and i also have a black velvet mini which is cute.. Both are great pieces on its own and worn separately

AAAGGGHHH! Velvet reminds me of those awful dresses with the bib collars I wore (and loved) as a little girl during the '80s! :P

Emmms I think it also depends on the kind of velvet. I only like cotton velvet. Polyester and silk velvet is too slink and shiny. Cotton velvet is heavier and sturdy, with more of a sheen then a shine. Velvet looks the best when use for structured pieces like blazers or structured dresses. Velvet can be really bad or really amazing you just have to use your head and judge whether you like something or not. I'm a fan and a lover of fabric so it's worth the effort.Like I hate what the model is wearing. It is a very unstructured drape in a shiny silk velvet.

I WANT THAT OUTFIT. Even though I couldn't fit into it, I would ensconce myself in it like a blanket.I have a velvet blazer that I like some days, but other days I think it makes me look like an elfin doorman. I would love a velvet party dress for the winter though...
