And, I'm always getting the shoe compliments. Michaelrcks 5 years Certainly. Michaelrcks 5 years Certainly. fashion4ward 5 years Yup, everyday. No one at my school (except for me and my best friend) has any style at all (think Abercrombie from head to toe). But I'm working at our local theatre this summer and everyone is way more interestingly dressed there, especially the wonderfully gay acting coach who has a mini Japanese fashion obsession. fashion4ward 5 years Yup, everyday. Alouqua 5 years Yes, I know my way around a closet and how to work it. Though it's harder now to wear my beloved clothes due to fact that I got put on anti depressants. Imagine putting on 20lbs in less than a year and eating like a bird. Also putting on weight made me more depressed, irony anyone? RoyalBlueMoss 5 years Yes, constantly and everyday from men and women. emalove 5 years Not everyday, but fairly often...I have nice clothes and when I take the time to put together a cute outfit, I usually get a compliment or two. I do have days where I look like a bum though! girlshop75 5 years The homeless man that lives outside my building says "nice dress" if I'm wearing something particularly fabulous. sjtoliver 5 years I never really thought of myself as that great of a dresser, but I constantly get compliments from friends, family, coworkers, and random people. maybe I'm on to something, or I just make everything look good :D EkaterinaBallerina 5 years Yes, I get them a lot. But I also tend to dress up for my office (I work in marketing) so maybe its more noticeable. My male colleagues notice it a lot too. In college, I was notorious because I never dressed down, even more am lectures. I also have a pretty unique sense of style and sometimes throwing on stand-out pieces makes people comment more often. Like last week I wore a chunky beaded necklace I'd bought in South Africa but hadn't worn in ages and people complimented me on it and the rest of my outfit. rabidmoon 5 years Occasionally. Sadly I have to admit most of the time I just dress casually and run out the door...but I have had some winners. I used to have this amazing beaded sleeveless vest from the 60s, in pale-pale ivory and greens, and wore it for fun sometimes with an ivory linen pencil skirt and some seriously 60s hair and makeup. At the time I was doing percussion work for a drama team so I could wear whatever I felt like...I always got complimented on it. (I wish I still had that top!) Other than that, I have a few pieces which often people will ask about...ironically usually its a vintage thing I have found, and it just makes "me" feel really good when I wear it. A current favourite is a black cardi (cropped by today's standards, but prob 50s) that someone had hand-embroidered with charcoal grey and white beads and satin ribbons to look like winding flowers. I throw that on over a modern, long stretch tee, and a cute swingy skirt or jeans, and someone always compliments it. bbkf 5 years side note: I really thought the model in that photo was missing a hand. --Natalie-- 5 years often, but not everyday.. and a lot of time by people than i do not know at all! hehe --Natalie-- 5 years often, but not everyday.. and a lot of time by people than i do not know at all!hehe bbkf 5 years I work at an art school, so all the staff put a lot of effort into their outfits. It's really helped me develop my personal style and I get a lot of compliments, especially from my boss who wears head-to-toe black every single day! lizs 5 years It is like a style war at my office - the mindset totally doesn't match the job that we do, but everyone is so competitive! So yeah, I have to put a lot of thought into what I wear, which means that once I go back out into the real world I look way more put together than I might otherwise, which brings the confidence and the compliments. nals33 5 years I usually get compliments on my shoes as well. I get compliments on my entire outfits when I'm not dressed super casual (jeans, cami, & a sweater). I don't really feel the need to put super cute outfits togeter for work since I work in my own lil cubicle and see the same people day-in, day-out. So, I don't put too much effort into what I'm wearing throughout the week. Lovely_1 5 years I guess it all depends. if it's just like sweatpants and a hoodie then no haha. but when I am dressed up to go out for a night on the town then yes yes yes!
