I wore a bra to bed when I first hit puberty and got a training bra. I thought that was what you were supposed to do. Then my mom finally noticed and was all like "don't do that! That's going
to stunt your growth!"
Taking the bra off at night didn't make the girls a lot bigger, mom.
Looseseal, I was the same! It never occurred to me to take it off at night, and I still wear one every night. I don't find it uncomfortable at all and i think that extra support has done me
no end of good!
Ha - I was told not to because it could lead to cancer. A summer camp/sleepover myth, but there you go. I'll wear a shelf-bra cami sometimes, especially during the summer
I always take off my bra as soon as I possibly can! But one of my best friends when I was a teenager wore her bra to bed though - I thought that was weird.
I hate bras. I have a huge chest, if I didn't I'd go braless or wear sports bras all the time! I hardly ever wear a bra to bed. I usually do when I have guests or if I'm staying at someone's
house. Otherwise, off it goes
never. the only times i slept in my bra were when i was sleeping over at my friends' and there were guys around or when i was too drunk to care and slept in clothes.
There was a Gyno Dr. on the Tyra show who said get all the support you can (even if that means sleeping in your bra) to prevent them badgirls from sagging. So now, I try to always have some
type of support when I sleep I noticed a lot of people said it was unhealthy to
sleep in a bra...I'm just curious as to why??
No! The thought of is too uncomfortable! I'm with the gals who get rid of the constraints straight after work, along with watch, wedding ring, shoes, etc.
i'm surprised more people aren't concerned about sagging (and stretch marks). I love to sleep nude, but latelty i've become paranoid about sagging (early to worry- but that's me). I still
sleep without, but monthly when the girls swell, I always sleep in a sports bra. I love my girls and i don't want to have to get them augmented down the road!

Its just not healthy to sleep in a bra, unless I suppose you wore the really soft, unstructured kind, or a sports bra.
Either way I do not think I could. I just like the simple pleasure of NOT having to wear one for a change! I am larger-chested so I definitely take bras seriously. I can't go without one
without looking utterly rubbish, and they have to be well made to boot
...but when it comes to sleep I believe in letting my skin breathe.
As for sagging, I trust good posture and keeping chest and back muscles in good shape to support them! Time will tell!
Heck I don't wear a bra many days, let alone to bed. Bra straps irritate my skin.
I am astounded at the number of people who still think wearing a bra at night will prevent sagging breasts though. Breast tissue changes as we age. At 40 they're made up of a higher
percentage of fat than they are in our 20s. By our 50s our breasts are almost entirely fat, and fat can not withstand gravity like breast tissue and muscle do, so things sag. Having a baby
can stretch the skin as well. Ain't no bra in the world gonna prevent that.
Exercise will help keep the back and chest muscles at their best, but sagging is part of the natural aging process- anything that tells you otherwise is yet more snake oil to get women to
open their pocketbooks.
I don't understand this sagging thing. I think its a bunch of crapola. I feel you should let your body be free of constricting clothing for at least 8 hrs a day. give your body a break.
I always sleep in a bra. I don't think that wearing one or not will have any effect on how large or saggy my breasts are, but it's uncomfortable if I don't wear one.
Why are people saying that it unhealthy to wear a bra at night? What do you think will happen? Is there any medical evidence to back up your claims?
I nearly always sleep in a bra. The bras I sleep in don't have an underwire though. I had a cyst removed from my left breast about six months ago, and the doctor who did my surgery said he
had never seen real 34Ds at my as perky as mine (at my age -- 30). I think it helps sagging a lot!

Kylie Minogue was photographed leaving her house in London looking great in earth tones. She paired a taupe sweater and knit infinity scarf with jeans and brown leather booties, and wore fashionable cat-eye sunglasses and a brown leather satchel (similar to this one by Prada) to complete her look.
Never. It's so uncomfortable.
1Seriously! Shes not "sleeping in a Bra", it's jus for the needs of the show...She couldn't appear topless that's it
2I'm not a fan of them during the day.. so no way would I sleep in one!
3Where in the world do you see a bra in those photos?
4Not exactly a bra. I always sleep with one of those tight tank tops with integrated support.
5I wore a bra to bed when I first hit puberty and got a training bra. I thought that was what you were supposed to do. Then my mom finally noticed and was all like "don't do that! That's going to stunt your growth!"
Taking the bra off at night didn't make the girls a lot bigger, mom.
But it is more comfortable.
6I wear a bra because I am nursing.
7Looseseal, I was the same! It never occurred to me to take it off at night, and I still wear one every night. I don't find it uncomfortable at all and i think that extra support has done me no end of good!
8Only if they are very sore do I wear one at night!
9Ha - I was told not to because it could lead to cancer. A summer camp/sleepover myth, but there you go. I'll wear a shelf-bra cami sometimes, especially during the summer
10only when i have company
11No way!
12Very uncomfortable. Never
13I always take off my bra as soon as I possibly can! But one of my best friends when I was a teenager wore her bra to bed though - I thought that was weird.
14Absolutely not! That is the first thing to go when I get home.
15i take my bra off the second i get home from work every nite!
16I like sleeping in a tank with a shelf bra. I'm too large-chested to be comfortable without any support, but underwires are uncomfortable to sleep in.
17I never would!
18i ♥ sleeping nakie!
No way...
19No, at least not one with wires. When I nursed I sometimes wore a sports type bra or a cami with a built in bra, but that's very different.
20No way! No bra for me when I go to sleep.. I feel way more comfortable
21Sometimes.
22I hate bras. I have a huge chest, if I didn't I'd go braless or wear sports bras all the time! I hardly ever wear a bra to bed. I usually do when I have guests or if I'm staying at someone's house. Otherwise, off it goes
23san bra is always best while sleeping.. tho if i'm crashing at a friends place i usually keep it on
24Is not only unconfortable, but is not healthy too. Not sane at all.
25Nope.
26God no! God knows that's not healthy! You could get bruisemarks you know!
27No way, not even when I was pregnant or nursing. Too uncomfortable and not healthy. My bra comes off as soon as I get home from work.
28never. the only times i slept in my bra were when i was sleeping over at my friends' and there were guys around or when i was too drunk to care and slept in clothes.
29No!
30never ever ever

33Only when I pass out before I take it off

36haha! Right on, fahsionmimi!
37Never — I like my girls to hang loose at night.
However if i am at camp or if there is company i would wear sports bra.
38Yeah I don't wear my normal bra to bed. I take it off as soon as I possibly can.
I do like some support though...so I'll wear one of those built-in cami's.

40I wear a bra to bed sometimes. To keep the girls perky! HAHA.
41does wearing a bra really prevent sagging? I've always wondered what evidence this was based on

44Good lord no! I take my bra off the second I get home
45and this is where small chested women have an advantage. let it all hang! but big chested women should wear a comfort bra to bed to provide support.
46I always sleep in a bra. I don't think that wearing one or not will have any effect on how large or saggy my breasts are, but it's uncomfortable if I don't wear one.

47I'm only a 23B but yes I do because I just feel like... well... all I can say is I don't want nation geographic boobs when I get old.
48I nearly always sleep in a bra. The bras I sleep in don't have an underwire though. I had a cyst removed from my left breast about six months ago, and the doctor who did my surgery said he had never seen real 34Ds at my as perky as mine (at my age -- 30). I think it helps sagging a lot!
49what is unhealthy about sleeping in a bra?
