My mothers closet would make Donatella jealous. I had a baby 11 weeks ago so I'm still a bit larger than usual, about 30 lbs, ack, so my mother has inspired me with a peak at what she is "willing" me. I hope it looks as good on me, she has the advantage of being 5'11' 130 lbs, and I'm only 5'8''. Now if only she shared some height!
I play dress up with my clothes, not my mom's. My mom has great taste, but we are not the same size, but I love to dress up in my clothes just for fun. I especially like wearing dressy shoes or heels that I don't wear all the time (I can't wear heels at work, I don't like to wear them to school, so unless I have a fancy party or dinner to go to, they just sit in my closet)...
What I'd do if mom had kept her wardrobe...she had an amazing collection of platform shoes. She got married in 6" heels with a 2.5" platform. She figured they'd go out of style and be a waste, so when my parents hired a lady to help clean the house up when they were moving, she said she could have them. WAAH!!!
My mother and I are on completely different fashion planets. Plus I'm in Colorado and she's in central Illinois. But I have almost never gone to her closet. Unless I was looking for a rolling laugh from my friends. No offense mom! LOL
Well, sometimes I will put my friends clothes on, but I would never wear my moms clothes, they are pretty bad, and she is totally stuck in the 80's lol!
My Mom now plays dress up in my closet. Everything new I get she wants to try on. After I've had something for a few months she always asks if she can have it. I guess the tables have turned.
i've never much been into this
i love shopping but when we get home, my mom always wants us to do a fashion show of what we've bought and i always hate that
i hate getting in and out of clothing
considering my obsession with vintage ANYTHING..i'll have to say yes!! I have about 10 dresses that used to belong to my grandmas' friend back in the 60's/70's and more than half of my jewelry and accessories collection is "on loan" from my grandma :)
lol... Dress up was my favorite thing to do! This brought back so many memories =)...I don’t dress up in my mothers clothes anymore(weird) but I am constantly dressing up in my own pieces- mixing and matching to see what works- great "Im bored" pastime
My mom never throws anything away so going through her closet I always end up with great vintage finds. Luckily I am the same size now when my mother was in the 70's. My latest discovery is a cropped tweed jacket, a python clutch and a rabbit fur out. Though I am not sure how I feel about wearing fur.
