My flatmate/best friend and I own the same denim skirt from Gap, and we've found out a couple of times when coming back from work we were both wearing it. We think it's pretty funny though, and it's not like we're gonna go to the same place dressed the same.

yeap. i do. in Lithuania it's a sin and girls really get angry with each other for that, but here in London all my friends ask me where I got it and go and buy it. It's OK. So I guess it's just cultural differences.

Depends on the person and/or situation. If it was to work, etc.. then I would just laugh it off. A special occassion and I would be slightly peeved however I would tell myself to get over it. In kindergarten, my mom had just bought me a cute multi-colored jacket for my 1st day and what happens? I ended up walking into school next to a girl wearing the exact same jacket(who just so happened to be my classmate,lol.) I remember being annoyed that someone else had my style. :P

This has only happened ONCE, with a t-shirt, in 7th grade. It was a big, blonde, ogre of a girl who wore it. I went home and threw my t-shirt away. : P

If it's unintentional, then whatever, but I've had friends who have bought and worn some of the same clothing/accessories that I own, and that drives me NUTS.

Once for a black tie work event, I bought an unusual red dress at a boutique in So Calif and at the event there was a woman wearing the same dress that she bought at a boutique in So Florida and to make matters worse, we were seated at the same table...but I wore it better :-)

I would prefer being the only one wearing it, but if someone else is wearing it I don't care.

it actually depends because if it's a big, key item then OMG but if it's small then it doesn't matter.

I find it funny when I see someone else wearing the same thing as me ... because I tend to buy stuff that is not exactly mainstream or trendy.
