Spring 2012 Milan Fashion Week

>> Yesterday's heavy-hitting show schedule made for a full day of fun backstage at Milan Fashion Week. Not only was there plenty of pin-up girl posturing at Dolce & Gabbana — in bejeweled maillots, no less — but also lots of madcap twirling in tomato-printed skirts and aubergine-patterned dresses. At Ferragamo, models pranced in flowing gowns fit for a night in the tropics; at Missoni, oversized fans provided the perfect coy accessory. But the most delicious thing spotted backstage? Earrings made from pasta at Dolce & Gabbana. Get a peek at all this and more, here in the slideshow.

Dolce & Gabbana Spring 2012

Vegetables have never looked so good, thanks to Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana's rich, over-the-top sexy approach to Spring 2012.
Dolce & Gabbana: Spring 2012

Vegetables have never looked so good, thanks to Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana's rich, over-the-top sexy approach to Spring 2012. Tomatoes, eggplants, and hot peppers were ultra ripe as prints on 50s bombshell silhouettes, including bustier tops and hot pants. The visual feast, Italian-style, gave way to sexy lace cocktail dresses that will be red-carpet staples in no time. The collection was fun-loving and flirtatious, with imagery of 50s Italy offering a wonderful sense of escapism.

  • Trends: botanical prints, 50s, bombshell, lace, applique.
  • Colors: Red, yellow, purple, baby blue.
  • Key Look: The vegetable-print dresses.
  • Who Would Wear It: A modern-day Sophia Loren.

Dolce & Gabbana to Close D&G Line — See Our Favorite D&G Looks Over the Years

Dolce & Gabbana to Close D&G Line

Today's D&G fashion show at Milan Fashion Week will be the last as Dolce & Gabbana just announced that it will close its D&G line to focus on its main collection. WWD reports that the designers said the move would give "even more strength and energy to our collections." Apparently, the decision to close the younger line could potentially lead to expansion to the main Dolce & Gabbana brand. We're going to miss D&G's cool and youthful designs, so in an ode to all its glory, check out our favorite runway looks from over the years.

What We're Sweet On: Easy, Eye-Brightening Shadow

Finding eye shadow that really accentuates deep-set or hooded eyes without making you look like a zombie can be quite a task, especially since people at makeup counters inevitably try to put you in rich aubergine, emerald, or chocolate shadows, which bring out eyes but also make them look tired, hollow, and heavy lidded.

Which is why the new Dolce & Gabbana eye color duo in Cinnamon ($36) has basically turned us into Gollum. We're so, so close to stroking the compact and calling it precious.

This thing is great because it's a mauve and taupe combination that's nicely pigmented, but also light enough not to make anyone look like an inadvertent Taylor Momsen. Plus, the shades really brighten up your whole eye area. It's like a full night's sleep in a couple sweeps of a brush. Plus, it looks great on any eye color, so whether you're a hard-to-complement blue-eyed lady or a brown-eyed girl, it's guaranteed pretty. Oh, and you don't have to have deep sockets to love these colors — they're perfect for anyone who needs a quick fix for tired eyes.

Justin Bieber Celebrates Fashion's Night Out With Anna, Brooklyn, and Chace!

Justin Bieber wasn't the only one making the girls scream outside NYC's Madison Avenue Dolce & Gabbana boutique — we also witnessed a couple excited fans lose it as they saw Anna Wintour walk in!

Justin Bieber wasn't the only one making the girls scream outside NYC's Madison Avenue Dolce & Gabbana boutique — we also witnessed a couple excited fans lose it as they saw Anna Wintour walk in! Anna and Justin joined Brooklyn Decker, Chace Crawford, and Usher yesterday for the brand's Fashion's Night Out bash. The evening had a "passionate duo" theme in celebration of their new lipstick line, and platonic and romantic couples were there aplenty. Justin had his manager, Scooter Braun, on hand while Jeff Gordon had wife Ingrid Vandebosch, Gossip Girl's Kelly Rutherford and Matthew Settle stuck together, and Leann Rimes showed PDA with Eddie Cibrian. Justin stuck around to sign the purchases of a few lucky fans, but later wrote on Twitter, "That place was a zoo!" Justin also shared a photo of himself, Scooter, and Usher, dubbing them the "three musketeers."
