Emma Watson in Navy William Tempest: Love It or Hate It?

It may be a children's movie, but actress Emma Watson showed up to the premiere of The Tale of Despereaux looking downright sophisticated. What helped her achieve that was her sheer, navy William Tempest corset dress. The sweetheart neckline makes it feminine, while the origami detail lends an off-kilter quality that Emma trends to gravitate toward. She kept her accessories simple but dressed up her feet with black sandals and wore small drop earrings. Do you love this look on Emma?

What I like about Emma Watson is that she likes to experiment so much with her clothing. She's brave, exploratory, and unique. She is so frequently criticized as dressing too old for her age, but I say good for you, Emma. Dress how you want to dress. Dress for yourself. She explores high-fashion with a voracious attitude, choosing daring pieces, and paying attention to details no-one else sees. She's a unique little starlet, that one.

she is just so darling!!! the mesh section of the dress makes her chest/collarbone a little... misshapen... but it just might be her pose...

wow it's a real corset isn't it? her waist looks tiny! I think she looks fabulous, though I'm not a super fan of the sheer part. Maybe if it was sleeveless?

i think i disagree with everyone :) the dress is okay, but i think the sheer part makes it look a bit ...trashy. i saw it elsewhere and i thought, "really? that's appropriate for a young actress debuting a children's movie?" i like the skirt, but i think a simpler shoe and something else on top would have made it more appropriate. maybe i'm just old ;)

I can't believe how mature her look is, it kind of swallows her. If the dress didn't have such long sleeves, it'd be more appropriate, especially for a kids' movie. I love the shoes - ah-dorable!
