I have to say, these ads are pretty intense. Believe it or not, that's Gemma Ward under there. I'm not sure how I feel about the muzzle-like knit on her face - I'm sure it has some underlying meaning, but I don't like the symbolism of a woman being muzzled. Especially because I'm not sure what it has to do with the collection's theme: the Scottish highlands. The clothes on the other hand - you know I am loving plaids right now and Gaultier continues to be a mastermind in that department. What do you all think?!

The ads were shot by Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin, and more from this campaign can be seen here.
I'm all for edgy advertising and creativity but this one is just weird.
Not feeling it
I thought I was viewing a campaign for a psycho-thriller film such as Hannibal Lecter's stories.
Trying too hard. Supposed to be subversive, but seems like a poorly done Marquis de Sade. Not interesting at the least, feels a bit anti-female too with the hiding of the face. Reminds me of something Viktor and Rolf did a couple of seasons ago with denim masks for the runway models. Eh, I'll pass.
this is very strange......
okay...............................................................???????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????? this is weird............................ya......................
I agree with Waterbabe - they're trying too hard
I don't like it.
yea i dont think im a huge fan of it.. i just dont see why she shold be in a muzzel
"Scottish Highlands" seems like a redundant theme for Gaultier, these ads are probably the only thing that will set it apart from every other collection
Photos are very Silence of the Lambs.
no way is that gemma ward!
i dont get it. fashion isnt supposed to be scary.
Gasp... This surprised me, then grossed me out for a sec. I like the fashion/art/creativity connection but I also like there to be something functional behind fashion.
Too strange for me! Is the guy Boyd Holbrook? Looks like it to me but I'm unsure.
I don't mind it...
creepy i think.
I don't get it. It just makes me think of the movie The Man in the iron mask....the face things are creepy
Sooo bad!!!! whats with these latest ads? Are they being made by misogynists????
I actually think the muzzle is more a political allusion than a masochistic one. I think they're trying to make a statement about the state of free speech rather than trying to create a real subversive image. The muzzle is extremely strage looking, but at least it doesn't look physically painful. It does bother me that the man isn't wearing one though, although maybe that's part of the concept as it's more common/socially acceptable for men to make their opinions and ideas heard.
i dont like s and m that much but love anything JPG
I don't like that at all. It's too strange.
pass.
That certainly doesn't make me want to buy the clothes.
good photography, but extremely creepy pics. i'm a little freaked out by this ad.
It is creepy.
This is just weird and really creepy!
*yawn* in a world where torture porn has taken over movies, and nothing is shocking anymore, Jean Paul is becoming obselete and this is his last gasp.
not realy my vibe
I don't get it and the clothing looks ugly. Would never wear anything like it.
leeluvfashion: I believe it is, I saw these ads on another site about Boyd.
And I have to agree with everyone else, they're quite creepy! But they certainly catch your attention!
Whatever Gautier, too dramatic. Focus on the clothing next time.
It's fun to look at. Wearable, probably not. Maybe a piece here and there. But who cares! It's runway!
weird ...
im scared. looks like some weird fetish...
