In this week's Life & Style they offer a really helpful breakdown on how to wear this season's hottest item: the dress. They show several examples of dress styles to lift busts, hide hips, accentuate curves and tame tummies. With all the voluminous styles of late, I realize those with un-model-like bods are struggling to pull off these looks. I think we all can learn from this breakdown and I have one to suggest too!

This Ella Moss Newport Flutter Sleeve Dress, $104, also comes in green/blue and the banded neck helps to conceal a disproportionate large bust. In general, banded-neck dresses are good for women with larger busts and it flatters the neck area as the dress drapes off the band therefore creating a loose silhouette throughout. But make sure your banded neckline hits above your bust, rather than along. Drapey fabrics like jersey or silk also ensure the dress hangs just so. Hope this helps!

Jessica Biel looks so good in this pic, I have such a girl crush on her!!
1I wish they made a dress that lifted the bust, hid my tummy, slimmed my hips and hid my arms ALL AT THE SAME TIME that didn't look like a sack.
2Oh WhiplashGirlchild you BEAT ME TO IT!! I was about to say the exact same thing!!! I like that dress above, the Ella Moss red dress, but I somehow feel it would look even better with a skinny black bow belt to define the waist a bit ...
3Oh girls! There is a dress that does all that: it's called a black wrap dress with elbow length sleeves, worn with a push up bra and some spanx worn accessorized with some bold jewels! xo
4The tummy tamers are kyooot!
5Okay see I have the opposite problem-not that I'm complaining! I'm petite so I swim in every new dress trend, it's like the dress is wearing me, not the other way around. I want to buy some of these but I just cant without looking ridiculous.
6those are some cute dresses!!
7I have the same problem, reeveske - unless I'm wearing heels, the dresses make me look like a 12 year old girl, and I'm 23!!! Also, I'd love a black wrap dress, but it's not very springy and I read some where that *sob* wrap dresses are on their way out??? Say it isn't so!!!
8DVF will never let that happen.
9Is there any way to make these Life & Style posts more readable?
10I like the whole dress thing, but I don't like it when they make you look 7 months prego. At least if you do make dress purchases this season, you can keep them and whip them back out for maternity clothes
I know... they aren't all cut that way.
11I heart my 3/4 length sleeve black wrap jersey dress. It is such a life saver for work when I want to be sassy and casual at the same time. Totally a fashion must have!
12I absolutely love that Ella Moss dress....if it only in yellow or green. I trapeeze style dress is on my Must-Have summer list.
13I like some of them-but most of them are too long 4 me.
14Cute dresses!
15America's dress is cute but its not the right color for her skin...she needs a little color in her skin...she so gorgeous tho no matter what she wears...i love her curves cuz they're just like mine!!!!!
