It's the ultimate luxury. Wining this bag for me would be a dream come true because I'm a rebel. At the time the Parisian House named this bag the " Jane Birkin" so she could fit all her items when traveling. She was also the ultimate Bohemian rebel. I hope I win !

I just love it because it's so simple. It's a great shape and size, and I love how versatile a style of bag it is. Also i can only imagine how buttery smooth the fabric is..

I have wanted a Birkin since i was a kid. My mom had taken me to Paris and I saw this amazing French woman walking down the street looking so well put together toting her Birkin bag. Everyone at the cafe discreetly checked her up and down, the way French women do, and all stopped and stared at that bag and began whispering. I asked my mom what was the big deal and a French woman at the table next to us said in this great accented English, "Darling, that is the Birkin, all women with taste either have or aspire to have the Birkin. Marry well and one day you too will have the Birkin." The other woman at her table then laughed and said, "Or if you are an approved mistress you may also achieve the Birkin." It took a few more years before I understood the "approved mistress" thing... it's very French, and since I haven't married well or for that matter married period, it's up to me to get that Birkin for myself.
