Fall Glimpse: Back to the Future

It was one of my favorite movies in the '80s and it is one of my favorite trends now. I don't really see myself in cosmic clothes, but I sure love looking at them. They're so sleek, so severe, so serious. True, they may be most appropriate for the cast of the Star Trek movie (wouldn't that be dope?), but whenever this trend resurfaces it reminds me that it is the future.

YSL's runway (left) was transfixing; architectural shapes, stiff fabrics, drones of models in uniform mop tops and new-wave shades. Others were more wearable — Ferragamo's slivers of metallic and straight jacket-esque creations and the renegades at Rick Owens.
