Fashion Week Tidbits: Gareth Pugh NY-Bound, Alexander Wang and Katie Grand Teaming Up, and Shalom Harlom Bartending at Organic

>> New York Fashion Week is less than a week away, and the tidbits are flowing freely — a compilation of the highlights from the past couple of days:

Double (or Triple) Duty Presentations

  • Gareth Pugh confirmed that he will be showing a video directed by Ruth Hogben on Sept. 13 to "set the mood for [his] catwalk show that will take place as usual in Paris." After the private showing, he'll screen the short film in public nearby — get your name on the guest list via MAC's Facebook page. [Style File]
  • Temperley London is taking their interactive Spring 2010 multimedia presentation on the road for the second time, starting in New York Sept. 15 before evolving in format for London Fashion Week and then again in Paris, where it will become an exhibit.  The film aspect, plus stills and a behind-the-scenes cut will be readily available online on Temperley's new website.

Parties

  • Marc Jacobs's after party is back this season, and so is Alexander Wang's: He's partnering with Katie Grand, marking Love's first event stateside, to celebrate in a West Side gas station.  Surprise special performances are promised, but the real question is: Could a styling partnership between Wang and Grand be in future? [Style.com]
  • POP, too, will be in town: Dasha Zhukova is holding an intimate dinner party with co-hosts (and POP staffers) Olympia Scarry and Shala Monroque, plus Style Rookie blogger (and POP cover girl) Tavi [Style.com]
  • The Cut's rundown of top invitation-only bashes for the week include Dossier's fourth issue (right) launch party (Keegan Singh, Kate Lanphear contributed) plus soirees hosted by Irina Lazareanu, Linda Evangelista, Coco Rocha, Isabeli Fontana, and Caroline Trentini [The Cut]

Appearances

  • Vena Cava have enlisted the Fiery Furnaces to play live during their presentation [FWD]

Collaborations

  • Yoko Ono met threeASFOUR's Gabi, Adi, and Ange during a concert in her loft, and the designers are having her black-and-white dot drawings translated into prints for their collection (right).  The pieces are more contemporary than the label's typical creations, and will thus be at a lower price point ($111-$888) than their usual fare. No-Shows

  • Camilla Staerk, who was scheduled to present her Spring 2010 collection Sept. 12 at MAC at Milk, has cancelled her show, despite the fact that the venue provides everything at no cost to the designer.  Instead, she is focusing on building a strong foundation for the label and the launch of her new line, Staerk Signature; she plans to return to Fashion Week for Fall 2010. [WWD]
  • Sounds like Karl Lagerfeld won't be making an appearance, as rumored, after all — he's not expected at the Chanel-hosted Coco Avant Chanel premiere Sept. 15, nor The Day Before screening party Sept. 8. [Style.com]
