Who she is: A singer-songwriter, model, and, most notably, the wife of former French President Nicolas Sarkozy. Though born in Italy, Carla grew up in France, attending college and starting her modeling career in Paris. Her résumé reads like a who's-who of fashion royalty; she's worked for Christian Dior, Givenchy, Sonia Rykiel, Karl Lagerfeld, John Galliano, Yves Saint Laurent, Versace, and more.
Why we love her: As the former first lady of France, Carla has a certain responsibility to look sophisticated and refined, and her stately style often reminds people of Jackie Kennedy. She opts for no-fuss sheath dresses (mostly by Dior), cropped coats, and low-heeled pumps for daytime, and she often turns up the heat for evening by choosing long, lean gowns in bold jewel tones.
