At their Fall 2011 preview yesterday in New York, Gap showed a polished and sleek collection of separates designed for easy sophistication. There were plenty of pants, from leather leggings to bootcut trousers and skinny cords. Leather pieces — including a nude leather jacket and black shift dress — showed a super chic direction and suggested that Gap might be a destination for more than denim and tees next Fall. Accessories were a bit more sleek as well, from leather crossbody bags to pointy-toe heels with a little petal on the back, showing a grown-up Gap girl who can easily dress up her denim.
